hot damn. i'd let her hate me for being human, i ain't even lying.═══════ ❤︎ ═══════
"you're mother is scary." i shuddered, rubbing my hands against the tops of arms to warm myself. my feet crunched against the leaves as i continued walking through the forest. larger crunches came from beside me, but that's only because san was atop one of the wolves.
"should i take that as an insult?" she asked, sounding amused as i was pushed forward slightly with the help of the wolf nuzzling my back with its nose. i shook my head, "no, it's a compliment. that means she's a bad bi - "
i couldn't finish my sentence as i tripped over a branch sticking out the ground. i yelled as i tumbled a little down the small decline in the path. "ouch.." laughter came from behind me, a short while after a hand was outstretched in front of me.
i took her hand, muttering as i dusted myself off. "alright, a compliment it is." she hummed, nudging me as she went onward with the path on foot. i heard a small growl coming from behind us, and as i turned around i came face to face with piercing eyes.
i forgot her family of wolves hadn't gotten so used to me yet. "go back to mother, i'll be fine. ( name ) will be with me." another short growl came, and i chuckled nervously. "yeah, if something bad happens to san she will be okay. she will be the one protecting me if anything.. i really need lessons.."
i took a few steps back and san replaced herself with me, standing in front of the wolf. she motioned for me to go ahead so i did as told and went down the rest of the short path to the clear and clean meadows.
i smiled and took a deep breath, letting myself fall to my knees so i could painlessly fall fully onto the grass. the mix of yellow and pink flowers outlined my figure as i stretched. "this is the life!" i yelled out, laughing as i rolled around.
"hey, don't smoosh all of the flowers. the forest enjoys looking out at the scenery too you know?" san called. i pushed myself up, seeing her walking out the forest. "hey, the forest is the scenery! i love it!" i laughed, falling back down.
san fell down next to me. i turned to my side to look at her, only causing my hair to flip into my face and cover my sight. i tried to blow it out my way but couldn't, so she helped me out and pushed it behind my ear. i gave her a smile, which she returned.
"so, m'lady wolf princess, what does thee wish to do." i put on an accent, making her look at me with a confused face. "w - what..?" i gasped out of shock, shaking my head and pushing myself up. "i can't believe you don't get simple jokes."
she stood as well, looking offended. uh oh, here we go again. well, not really. "you know you have to explain them to me!" she cried back, pushing me lightly with a stick. where did she even get that from. "okay, okay! i'm sorry i forgot."
she looked at me expectantly and i put my hands up in surrender. "all i did was put on an accent to make myself sound older and wiser, to try and joke with you while asking what you wanted to do." she let out a sound of realization before laughing.
"that's why you sounded sick! oh, i thought i was going to have to finally throw you off the cliff to avoid catching it myself." she said seriously and i shrunk back. "but you.. you wouldn't do that, right."?
she looked at me for a moment like she was thinking and i shouted her name with worry. she snorted before bursting out in tears. "i gotcha! you should've seen the look on your face!" she breathed out.
i frowned before scoffing and pushing her shoulder. "you don't joke like that! it wasn't funny!" she pushed my shoulder right back, still laughing. "your face was funny!" "well, your face is always funny!" i retorted.
she gave a playful growl that reminded me of the wolf from earlier, making me shiver before i tried my best to return it. it was good, actually, must've been good enough cause we started going back and forth before she lunges at me.
i screamed, starting to join her in laughing as her fingers danced at my sides. i rolled around trying to get her to stop but it didn't seem to help. my legs kicked but she held them down with her own, a look of victory on her face.
"never challenge me in a game of growl, ( name ) !" she called out, taking a moment to breath. i took this time to use what strength i had left to flip us over, beginning to put her under the same torture as i went through.
" ( name ) stop! this i - isn't fair!" she cried out, making me laugh evilly. "this is what you get! i hate being tickled and you know it!" i replied, focusing on her sides to the middle of her stomach. when i got there she let out the loudest cry i had heard. it hurt my ears actually, so i stopped to let us catch our breaths.
before i had a chance to ask her what that was, i heard a distant howl and looked around; seeing a white wolf coming out the forest. my face dropped and i deadpanned. "a backup call huh? you're going to get me killed one day, san, and if i do i don't want it to be at the mouth of your family!" i scolded the girl, who pushed me off of her and stood to signal the wolf down.
i watched him lay, but not move from his spot to watch us. i pouted, stomping my feet lightly as i tugged on her hands. "san, come on. i wanted to hang out with you alone, by that i mean not being watched over!"
she smiled and hummed, looking at me before taking my hand tightly and running off. i followed the best i could, keeping up barely. "alright! let's go, m'lady."
