We had been walking for a few days now. We went around the capital and made our way to the forest of death. At least that's what the tiny village next to it calls it.
The forest is filled with dangerous creatures. Not only demons but also normal wolf's, mountain lions and many others so we need to stay on gaurd.
So bakugo? I asked gaining his attention. If it's impossible to get on your island without flying you don't get many visitors do you? I asked curious. Yea, what about it? He said raising an eyebrow. How do your people respond to strangers? Do they kill them or do they not mind? He thought for a moment. Well, the last time a stranger was on our island it was a gaurd of the king, so we killed him. But I don't know I anyone ever dared set foot on our land. I'm pretty sure people are afraid of us. I nodded in understanding. But why do you ask? He looked at me curious. Kiri had also turned to listen to our conversation. Well since we are heading to the forest of death, we will be close to your island. I thought, maybe you wanne go visit your family or something. I said shrugging. He looked back in front of him. Yea, maybe. Does that mean you would come with us? If it was possible yes I would love to come with you. I said. He nodded. There should be no problem. After that the conversation ended. I was thrilled, I got to see how bakugo grew up and all.
We were still weeks away from the forest and decided it was time for a break. We set up camp and I went hunting. We needed food and I was the best at it. I had already sent out Cora and kept the dragon close to me. I had left River with the boys in case something happened. While looking for some animal I thought of a name for the dragon. He was growing but not so fast. His blue feather had gained white tips and looked really pretty. The fireproof scales underneath just seemed to be black giving him a black face and hind legs. His tail was also covered in feathers. His golden eyes searched the whole field looking for something to eat. He always seems so happy. It's really funny. I thought.
I was walking back to camp. I had caught two rabbits. A name? What should I call you? His color is amazing. The shade of dark blue is something I haven't seen before. Because of his dark color his eyes seemed to light ip as well. Light? That's it.
I arrived at the camp and went over to kiri. Hey kiri what's light in dragon tongue? He looked at me. Ummmm well literally translated it would be Hikari. Why? I lifted up the tiny dragon. Do you think it's a good name for a dragon? His eyes lit up. That would be a perfect name! Really? Alright! I looked at the demon. So what do you say, Hikari? He made some happy chirping noises and I laughed. (a/N) quick note Hikari means light in Japanese. I thought it sounded cool.
The evening fell and we were all tired of walking. I was laying on the back of my sleeping wolf enjoying its warmth. The fire was crackling and sent some heat towards me. I looked at the to boys sleeping peacefully. It was my turn to keep watch, we don't want to get robbed in our sleep. People actually try that. Cora and Hikari were nuzzle together at the side of the wolf. It was a clear sky tonight. I could see every single star in the dark sky. It was really pretty. Tomorrow we'd go hunting and after would get back to walking. We hadn't met any gaurd since we escaped the dungeon and I was happy for that. A few bad memories came up and I sighed. After I had left kiri and bakugo it was like I left a piece of my heart. There was this empty feeling that I just couldn't get rid of and it annoyed me. Now I felt complete again and it was great.
I woke kiri up. It, as his turn to keep gaurd and went to sleep
I woke up to the sun on my skin. It had been a piece full but cold night so I was thankful for the big wolf that kept me warm.
We were walking again. It was the perfect temperature. I had let out my demons since we were no where near a village.i watched as my dragon flew through the air. For not having anyone to teach him he was doing great. I had noticed how happy kirishima looked every time he saw the dragon. It must get lonely being the only dragon. I walked up to him. Hey, do you miss it? He looked at me confused. Miss what? He asked. Being able to transform and fly freely. His eyes widened. I mean, you always look so happy when you see Hikari I thought you might miss it. He looked away. I do miss it. It feels really nice being able to stretch your wings and just take off. He said with a hint of sadness. Yeah I get it. I don't like it either that I have to keep my demons fused in public, so it must be hard not being able to do it at all. I said. He looked at me. Now that you mention it why do you keep it hidden? Oh, so remember that people think we went extinct? The summoners I mean. He nodded. So if we are supposed to be dead and someone sees that they aren't we would probably be attacked and sold. I stated. He looked quite shocked so I continued. Nobody knows sunset village isn't abandoned. They think it's empty so we are left alone. We don't even pay taxes to the king anymore. I said with a grin. Wait really, that's so weird! I know right! We laughed. But back to the subject at hand. We are at least 2 weeks away from the closest form of civilization why don't you take the chance to fly a bit? He looked away. I mean I would love to but.... But what? I asked. But what if I scare you? He murmured. I laughed. Scare me! Haha you're funny kiri! I'm not joking! I looked at him before laughing even harder. Kirishima I went on a mission to kill a wyvern. It was a young adult. You wouldn't scare me! I would be fascinated. He looked at me rubbing the back of his neck. Are you sure? Yeah come on dude, I wanne see your dragon form. He nodded and smiled. Okay but I warned you! He said. Steam started rising from his body. His red eyes getting cat like pupils. The bandana disappeared and instead two big horns were visible. The steam now covered his whole body and became bigger and bigger. He was definitely bigger then I thought he would be. When the steam cleared a red dragon with red eyes was seen. He was standing on all fours his wings slightly spread. His head attached to his body by a long neck. Dark spikes covered his spine as his red scales shined in the sun. He was looking at me. His sharp teeth showing from under his lip. He was at least as big as three horses. I got stars in my eyes while looking him up and down. Wow! Kirishima that's awsome! I touched his nose. It was warm and felt a little weird because of the hard scales, but I didn't care. I was to caught up in how cool it looked to mind the heat. I saw Hikari flying over and landing in between kiri's horns. He chirped happily and flew back up. So are you going to fly or not? I asked. He looked at me and then at the sky. He spread his massive wings and with a few strong flaps he was off. Hikari followed happily even though kirishima was way faster. I heard someone grumble and turned around to see bakugo. He growled a bit. Oh let him be! I said. He looked at me and frowned. He needed it look how happy he is. I pointed at the red dragon who was flying in loops and circles. I looked back at bakugo. Fine but we have to keep moving. He said turning around and walking away. I giggled and followed him.
