It hit each of the Sakamaki princes without warning. A presence they were regrettably all too familiar with. The heavy, imposing presence of their father: The Vampire King.

Only moments before, each brother could be found doing what they typically did on any given day.

Shuu propped his legs up on one of the more comfortable sofas in their spacious home. He had tucked his right hand behind his head with his left resting on his stomach. His earphones were in their usual place and his sapphire blue eyes were hidden behind his closed lids. By looking at him you'd think he was in a deep sleep, but more often than not he was acutely aware of his surroundings. If someone was able to get close enough to the tall, passive blonde, they would hear the music he was currently enjoying: a gloomy classical piece.

Reiji was off in his private study, dedicated to his own particular interests of mixing various chemicals and toxins to create poisons and other elixirs that he might find useful. None such uses were especially ethical. His calculating fuchsia eyes closely examined his notes and data laid out neatly before him. Due to his gaze being often directed downward at his notes or a book he was enjoying, his elegant gloved hands would take turns pushing his glasses back up the bridge of his nose.

The first and third triplet were both in the dining hall. The first, Ayato, leaned back in one of the dining chairs, balancing on the back two chair legs with his own legs crossed and propped carelessly upon the grand dining table. The thought of his uptight brother's face if he were to see Ayato's feet flung onto the surface where they shared their meals made the self-indulgent redhead snicker silently to himself.

However quiet Ayato was, the third triplet heard his brother chuckle to himself and his narrow green eyes opened slightly to side-eye Ayato. The youngest triplet, whose name was Laito, smirked mischievously knowing exactly what his brother was thinking. If Reiji could only see Ayato now, how entertaining the ensuing argument would be! Laito reached up to pull the tip of his fedora hat down a bit making only a minimal effort to hide his amusement at the thought.

The remaining triplet, Kanato, had stayed in his room and was sitting on the floor with his legs tucked beneath him. He leaned forward and delicately grasped one of the tea cups that was part of an impressively expensive set. Kanato sipped silently on his tea and hummed satisfactorily as his favorite beverage warmed him from inside. Kanato's Teddy looked on, perched in his own seat across from the purple-haired man. Teddy's own cup of tea sat directly in front of him; untouched and giving off the steam of a freshly boiled cup. Kanato nodded approvingly and quietly praised Teddy for waiting until the tea had cooled a bit so he wouldn't burn himself.

The youngest prince, Subaru, walked aimlessly through the halls of the mansion. He detested being alone with himself but not nearly as much as being with others. And so this is where he found himself on most days. Wandering around like a ghost, plagued with dark, self-deprecating thoughts.

That was when they sensed the presence of their father. Whatever purpose he could possibly have in visiting his children, they all knew it wouldn't bode well for them.

Each brother abandoned what they were doing and moved at an inhuman speed to convene in the parlor they often used when meetings were necessary.

Ayato crossed his arms over his chest and took it upon himself to initiated the conversation; "tsk how dare that man come here?" He mumbled insults under his breath.

Reiji ignored his younger brother's asinine comments and addressed all of them, "It's in our best interest to locate his whereabouts regardless of his purposing in coming here".

In a corner of the room, obscured in shadow, a small voice said, "hmm that man normally sends instructions through letters. Isn't that right, Teddy?"

"Ara ara~ Kanato is right. If he came in person it must be pretty important... How interesting!" The tip of his hat tilting slightly down as Laito chuckled to himself.
