Part 6: All In my head

The following Friday...

We pull up to the drive and hop out the car.

"Why did your mum want us here earlier than usual?" I ask Adam.

"Johnny has a surprise so she wanted us here before him." He replies.

He unlocks the door and we head in, Adam closes the door behind him and puts his coat on the hanger.

"Hello?" Adam shouts.

Martin comes out of the loo shirtless as usual.

"Hello bambino, female." Martin says to us.

"Dad do you have to keep calling Beth female?" Adam asks.

"I quite like it, it shows people my gender."

Both me and Adam laugh.

"Where's mum?"

"Upstairs getting ready." Martin replies.

"Why? It's only us. She has no one to impress." Adam says.

"Oh you don't know." Martin says then walks away into the lounge.

Me and Adam look at each other confused and follow him.

"Don't know what?" I ask.

"Johnnys got a female." Martin tells us

"Pissface has a girlfriend, never thought this day would come." Adams says.

I feel my stomach turn and questions start to fill my head.

"Must of found some flousey on the street." I joke.

"They'll be here any minute!!" We hear Jackie shout as she comes running down the stairs.

"Hi mum."

"Hi Jackie."

"Hi bobble, hi Beth. Martin put a bloody top on, she won't want to see your bosoms!" She says as she chucks Martin a top.

We follow her into the kitchen to see if we can help.

"Could I be of any assistance Jackie?" I ask her as I can tell she's very tense.

"Oh yes please love, can you open a bottle of red wine. They're in the dining room in the little cuboard."

I go in there and fetch a nice bottle of red wine, I open it and place it on the table. Adam comes in with plates and I help him set the table.

"Can you believe Pissface managed to get a girlfriend?" Adam says to me.

"I know I'm in shock, probably got her really drunk." I joke.

"Yeah then shagged her, that's what he's like."

I feel my stomach turn more.

We hear the door open and wait a few seconds.

"Hello?" We hear Johnny shout from the hallway.

Adam runs out the room but I'm quite nervous so I calmly exit the room into the hallway to see Johnny with his new girlfriend.

And to my surprise it isn't some flousey.

"Anna?" I say shocked.

"Hi Beth." She says back to me.

"Anna this is my brother Adam and you already know his girlfriend Beth." Johnny says to her.

"It's nice to meet you Adam."

Jackie and Martin enter the hallway.

"Mum, Dad. This is Anna." Adam says as they join us.

"It's very nice to meet you Anna." Jackie says.
