EDNA'S POV

"UGH! What is with the STUPID Shadow Rebellion and making everything harder for us?" Edna complained.

"I know, right!" Zaira agreed from the roof of the stone house they stayed in.

Edna heard the clash of wooden swords from across the meadow and suspected there was another training session going on.

"I feel like this is what they want."

"What?"

"They want us to train, and get distracted from what they are actually trying to do."

"That would be a good plan"

"But it's not likely. I mean, Mez can't expect us to know everything! We're new at this, and we barely know what the whole situation even is!"

"GET UP HERE YOU LAZY WORMS- Aaaah!" Mez had been standing on the roof of their new stone house, yelling at them to move faster, then Rayem had slammed into her, tackling her onto the stone. She glared at him, and he grinned. Now Edna could actually tell what facial expressions her friends made because they didn't have to wear their masks anymore. Mez told them that having their sparks exposed to light would enhance their magic, and give them an advantage over the Shadow Rebellion.

Everything seemed to be about the Shadow Rebellion those days. Everything. Edna and Zaira had been throwing around a rock during a game of catch, and Mez had turned it into a training exercise for projectiles. And why did it matter if she could scale a perfectly smooth cliff?
Mez was most likely just getting them ready as fast as she could.
Sighing, Edna entered the stone house. The inside was a moderate size, consisting of one round room and eight hallways branching off of it. One for each bedroom.

But Edna was only interested in one hallway. She entered the bluish-tinged far right one. She heard the faint sound of water splashing. Rounding a bend in the hallway, she entered a cozy bedroom.

The floor was carpeted in gray-blue flowers, and a small turquoise waterfall ran down the rocky wall. A cushion sat in the middle of the room, and on that cushion was a barely recognizable Eclipse. All her features seemed to have been erased and were gray toned. Her cape was ripped and her stars were gone. Edna sighed at the sight of her battered up friend and left the room. Why of all things would those stupid shadow children do this? What was in it for them if their world broke up into chaos? Well, Edna decided That's what they would deserve.

RAYEM'S POV

"Mez, no. This is ridiculous."

"Rayem, it's way too recognizable, cut it."

"You're just jealous."

"Rayem, we need disguises. Do you think I would grow out my amazing Mohawk to wear this ponytail thing on purpose? No!"

"Yeah, but you look like a wannabe Wasteland Elder- ugh, fine"

Sunny grinned, "She looks like a wannabe me?"

"No, like the current Wasteland Elder."

Mez said the Elders had become too recognizable, so she gave them temporary disguises to use until they found a better option.

Rayem thought it was just Mez messing with them.

"Mez, why are you making such a big deal about hair?" Sunny complained after pulling on a sun hat.

Rayem grinned evilly and answered for her, "She's jealous that we all actually have hair!"

"No, I- UGH." Mez tried to stand up for her hair but everyone else started laughing before she could finish. She stormed off in a huff while the others were rolling around on the ground, laughing for no apparent reason.

"Why is the Vault so quiet?"

"Because it's a library, duh."

Finding a spirit who no one had seen for years was hard. All the information they knew was that she lived on the first floor of the Vault. Rayem thought it would be concealed like the entrance to the Archives, but there weren't any more of the blue gems. All of the sudden, Rayem heard a shout and snapped his head up. The voice belonged to Ethis.

"Guys! I found something!" Everyone leaped into the air and glided over to Ethis. He was standing in front of a broken wall, a few of the navy stones on the ground. "Look!" Ethis pointed to the hollows in the door where the stones once were. He used telekinesis and lifted a stone up into it. A loud 'CLICK' echoed around the first floor.

"Lift the stones up!" Sunny said excitedly, "I think this is it!"
