RAYEM'S POV
The group shuffled cautiously through the gap in the wall where the barrier used to be. Sunny pushed her staff into one of the remaining shard of barrier, and it got stuck in the jelly-like substance. Suddenly a voice whispered in Rayem's ear.
You aren't supposed to be here...
Rayem shrugged the voice off and continued down the path. Flying on top of a short grass bluff, Rayem got his first view of the Office Portal. It was on a grassy island, surrounded by water with moving runes on the surface. Suddenly, Rayem couldn't feel his fingers. They felt like they were being washed away like grains of sand by water. Looking around, his friends had stopped as well, looking around with wide eyes. Rayem lost feeling in his legs, and dropped to his knees. All at once, everything lost feeling and he was whisked away in the waves.
⁂
Rayem opened his eyes to a familiar flock of birds swooping and diving overhead. He groaned.
Not the Home Space!
Someone poked him in the back.
"Get up already!" Edna said from behind him.
Rayem rolled over to face her.
"Well, sorry if I don't feel like getting up. I think my whole body just disintegrated!"
Edna rolled her eyes, and flew into the air.
"Guess you don't want to meet someone from a different kingdom then." She said, and glided away.
Rayem snapped up and launched himself into the air. He shot over the familiar tropical island. A cloaked figure stood on the constellation table.
They were wearing a white robe down to their knees, and a long scarf trailed behind them. A white hood was pulled over their head.
Edna landed by the figure and called. They turned around to look at her, golden eyes glittering under their mask. The cloaked person was obviously from the Sand Kingdom, Journey. The Wanderer let out a call as well. Rayem remembered that when you called to another creature, you could communicate.
Rayem let out a call from the air, and the figure called in return. Rayem landed softly on front of them, looking them up and down. They cocked their head and looked Rayem up and down. Finally, in a musical voice, they spoke.
"Greetings."
Rayem heard Mez shout from across the island.
"THAT'S ALL YOU'RE GONNA SAY AVALA? YOU'VE BEEN STANDING THERE FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF!!"
The figure scoffed and turned towards Mez.
"SOME THING'S TAKE TIME, MEZZIE," Avala yelled back in return, "I'VE BEEN OBSERVING."
