Books and Emotions

"Levi, why are you still up?" (Y/n) ask as she walks into the living room. Levi sat on the couch with a book up in front of him, a candle next to him being the only source of light. Levi ignores her question. She rolls her eyes and sits down next to him.
She peers down at the book, trying to read the words of the book. He leans the book towards her so she can also read with him. She scoots closer to him as she gazes down at the words. From what she had read so far it seemed to be a horror book. She smiles at the short man.
"I didn't know you like horror books" (Y/n) says as she glances back down to continue reading, "I should really get to know you more."
Levi grabs onto something next to the candle and places it in the book. Before he could close it, she stops him by grabbing at what he placed inside. She examines the tiny, light blue crotchet bag. She opens it up to look inside and she takes out the whithered flower ring she had made him.
"You kept this?" (Y/n) asks in disbelief. She thought that he had thrown it out, not kept it as a bookmarker. Levi gazes down at the ring, feeling embarrassed that he had been caught. He remains with his cold expression.
"You gave it to me," Levi states as he tries to control his beating heart. She gives him her devious smirk and he knew that she was going to make fun of him.
"I didn't think you were such a softie" (Y/n) teases him and he sighs at her. He grabs the flower ring from her fingers and places it back into the bag. He places the tiny bag into his book and closes it.
"I'm not" he shortly states as he watches her smile warmly at him. He was glad that she was finally smiling, even if it was because she was making fun of him, "Why are you even up, brat?"
"Aw, I thought we got over the whole brat thing" she pouts and leans back against the couch. She gazes up at the wooden ceiling, her pout turning into a frown, "I'm just scared of seeing her in my dreams. What about you?"
Levi stares up at the ceiling like her, "I have insomnia."
"I guess we're both fucked up, huh" (Y/n) mutters as she closes her eyes. She enjoys the wind whistling in the trees outside. She breathes in the cool air. She opens her eyes again and looks over at Levi. He looks back at her, "I want to know you."
"I don't have much to say, my life belongs to the Survey Corps" Levi replies cooly as he turns his head to face her.
"I don't want to know Humanity's Strongest," she says as her eyes shine in the candlelight, "I want to know Levi."
He takes a deep breath in. Erwin had told him to protect her and he guessed that he would have to open himself for her to trust him. He stands up from the couch and he nods his head towards the kitchen. She gets up from the couch, slightly tripping from the wound on her leg.
She would have healed herself a long time ago if Erwin hadn't ordered her to rest. He told her privately that the best thing to do is to heal normally. He was gravely worried about her. She makes her way into the kitchen and sits on the kitchen counter.
Levi grabs a tea kettle and pours water inside. He places the tea kettle over the open fire to heat it up. He leans against the kitchen island. He faces her so she knows that he has her full attention, "If I talk about myself, then I want to know about you too."
"Deal" (Y/n) nods her head with a smile. She wiggles her legs in anticipation of what the short man was going to tell her.
"If I had to pick my favorite book genre, then it would be psychological thrillers. If I had more time, then I would spend my days reading," he says as he gazes at her smile brightly at him, "I also enjoy a good cup of tea while reading. I find it calming."
