London: 11:34pm
"Hey, don't make it too easy for me boys!"
You raced round a corner, overtaking two cars in a drift. You grinned at their shocked faces as you went past. You gave them both a wink and a salute before straightening your car out and accelerating away. Laughing, you sat back in your seat. This was easy. Probably the easiest race you had ever done. You were driving a 1997 Skyline GT-R V-Spec, custom tuned by a friend of yours and painted by you. It was good at drifting and had great acceleration exiting turns. You were approaching the final corner when your phone started to ring.
(this do be the car)
"What? Who's calling me now? This isn't the time!"
You answered the phone through your car.
"Hello?!" You asked agitated.
"B-Ben, it's Lena."
You instantly calmed down.
"Lena? Are you okay? What's wrong?"
All you could hear was some distant shouting and Lena crying.
"Lena, are... are you crying?"
She didn't answer.
"Is someone shouting at you? What's going on?"
"Ben, I... I n-need you."
You slammed on the brakes and the car stopped abruptly.
"Where are you?"
The other racers shot past you.
"I... I'm at my apartment."
You put your foot down and threw the car into gear.
"I'm on my way, don't worry."
Lena cried softly and you heard a faint, "Th-thank you."

*Lena's PoV*
I didn't know how to feel. She kicked me out. After so long, Emily left me. All because I... what was that? I looked up and saw an orange car drift around the corner of my street. Relief filled me and I stood up. Ben was here. Ben was here and everything was going to be okay.
"Is that him then?" a voice sneered behind me.
I turned and saw Emily, her arms folded, stood in front of my apartment block.
"O-Oh Emily th-that's..."
I looked into her glaring face and felt tears well up in my eyes. Emily cocked her head to one side and laughed coldly.
"Look at you. Pathetic."
I stumbled back and tripped over my bags.
"W-What?"
Emily stepped closer.
"You're supposed to be the 'Great Amazing Tracer' and you can't even handle being dumped."
"N-No that isn't f-fair, you..."
She cut me off.
"I what? I kicked you out after being with you for so long? Or that I kicked you out because you-"
"Because she what?"
A voice interrupted Emily. I looked back over my shoulder and saw Ben standing there, arms crossed and with a serious look on his face.
"B-Ben!" I cried and pushed myself up off the floor. I stumbled over and threw my arms around him, burying my head in his shoulder.
He rubbed my back soothingly and whispered, "Don't worry, I'll handle this."
"O-Okay." I hiccuped, nodding sadly.
"D'you want to explain to me what you've done Emily?"
"You!" I heard Emily shout. "You're the fucking-"
Ben cut across her smoothly.
"That isn't polite is it Emily? When someone asks you a question, you provide an answer."
Ben started to run his fingers through my hair.
"I... um." Emily hesitated.
"Y'know what? I've got a different question for you." Ben said slowly. "Have you ever seen me when someone hurts Lena?"
I could tell Emily was nervous because I could hear her taking steps backwards.
"Tell you what I'll phrase it a bit differently." Ben chuckled. "Do you want to se me when someone hurts Lena?"
I heard a door open and close, meaning Emily had given up.
Ben sighed and separated my head from his shoulder.
"Are you okay?"
I smiled weakly.
"Better now you're here love."
He looked at me concerned.
"What did she do?"
I felt the smile on my face disappear and tears welling up in my eyes.
"Sh-she kicked me out."
Ben pulled me into a hug, gently running his fingers through my hair. I hugged him and gently started to cry into his shoulder.
"Shh... it's okay. I'm here." He whispered soothingly. I whimpered and held onto him tightly.
