"So how long have you and Genma been together?"
Akari rolled her eyes as she pocketed her kunai and stared at Kakashi in front of her. He looked intently at her with the one eye that was visible to her.
"What's it to you if we're together? And I'm still mad at you from earlier so unless you want a kunai lodged into your arm I suggest you leave," she stated coldly.
"So how long have you guys been together?" He asked blandly.
"I don't have to answer any questions that you ask me old man, I'm going inside and you better be off of my front stoop by the time I close the door," she responded with a monotone voice as she unlocked her door and went to open it. She was however blocked when his hand came flying towards her and closing the door closed. She could feel his presence behind her as she turned around to face him. His hand was against the door on her left side and he leaned down to stare directly at her.
"I asked you a question, and the polite thing to do would be to answer it Akari," he said with more force in his voice. She could only stare up at him as he trapped her between her and her door. Her back was flush against the door and he leaned down even further to stare at her, trying to intimidate her, but to him he only saw her stand there with confidence.
What he couldn't see was Akari's heart beating rapidly in her chest and the slight tremble in her finger tips as she hid them behind her back.
"We aren't together Hatake, and I would greatly appreciate if you would stop watching me and what I do please," she answered with confidence, proud that she had kept her voice steady. He stared into her eyes, trying to find any hints of lies within her eyes. Once he was satisfied with his search, he nodded and moved away from her, poofing away again.
She let out a long sigh, and finally let herself into her house and closed her door and leaned back against it, trying to make sense of everything that had happened in the short time since she had gotten back from her mission. She had almost completely forgotten her promotion to ANBU, and when she did remember she smiled to herself. She got up from her spot on the door and moved into her kitchen to get herself a glass of water.
She went into her own room and stripped herself of her shinobi outfit, which was black pants with combat boots laced up to a couple of inches above her ankles, a fishnet ling sleeve with a black tank top over, and bandages wrapped around both of her arms. She changed into loose black sleeping shorts and an army green tank top. She released her hair from the right ponytail it had been in all day, and ran a hand through it.
She made her way out to the balcony attached to her bedroom and sat on the mat that was to the left of her door. She let the breeze sweep across her face and just let her thoughts take over.
Genma liked her. Or so she assumed after their interaction after ramen. She could still feel where his hands had rested on her waist, and she unconsciously moved her fingertips to graze her side where he touched her. She felt her cheeks warm at the thought of him touching her, but then she remembered her second interaction with Kakashi. At the thought of him leaning down towards her, her heart rate increased yet again and she felt butterflies fill her stomach. She gripped her sides as she thought of how close they had been outside of her door. She couldn't even understand why she had been so affected by Kakashi. She hated him. He was clueless and selfish and rude and blunt. She couldn't stand being around him.
She finally returned to her room and laid in her bed, staring out the window at the moon slowly starting to sink as morning approached. She fell asleep wondering why Kakashi managed to work her up so much.

Akari awoke to the sound of someone pounding on her door. She begrudgingly removed the sheets from her body and made her way to the door. She opened her door up to the familiar silver hair she had come to despise. She narrowed her eyes at him as he stared down at her, the one eye that was visible raking over her barely covered body. She cleared her throat and he averted his eyes back to her face, a slight blush hidden by his mask.
