Akari sat there, playing with a water jutsu between her fingers. She was still mad at Kakashi, and she was beyond mad at Itachi. She threw a kunai at the tree in front of her, hitting it dead in the center. It helped that she imagined the target as Itachi.
After a while, she got up and made her way back into the village. She walked down the street and made her way to Genma's apartment. She didn't even knock, she just walked in. She heard Genma curse loudly and make his way to where his door was. He must have just come out of the shower because his hair was out of his bandana and he was towel drying it while wearing a tank top.
"Akari, how are you doing?" He asked. Her face was expressionless as she closed the door and walked towards him and leaned into him. He didn't ask as he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closer to him.
"Boys suck," she said, her voice muffled by his shirt. He let out a little laugh and gave her a kiss on her forehead.
"I know. I'm sorry we suck so much," he said, and she laughed a little at that. She gave him another squeeze and finally let go. She thanked him and then walked back to her apartment.
She took a fast shower and crawled into her bed. She put the bracelet Itachi had left with her in her nightstand drawer. She turned towards her window and spotted the white bird sitting on her railing. She glared and stomped out to her balcony and leaned down to it.
"Tell your little friend to leave me the fuck alone please," she said, then shut her balcony door.
"I can't really do that," a voice popped up from behind her, and she turned around to spot Itachi's friend from the forrest. She didn't even care anymore, she just sighed and sat down on her bed and stared at him.
"Can I at least know your name if you're going to be watching me?" She said, and he smiled sympathetically.
"I'm Deidara," he said, and she nodded.
"If you wouldn't mind, I'd like to sleep without you watching me. Can I at least have that?" She asked, and he grinned again manically.
"Sure. I'll probably see you tomorrow anyways," he said and laughed. He then jumped out to her balcony, and closed the door behind him. He smiled back at her then left. She laughed lightly at his goofinesss, then turned over and fell asleep.

Over the next few weeks, Akari completely avoided Kakashi. She had too much on her mind to deal with him right now. She eventually went to the Hokage and told him about what happened with Itachi, and he made sure to speed up her recovery process so that she could gain control of her powers faster. They knew the deadline would probably be soon, so the Hokage had Kaito and Riku train Akari as best as they could. She was back to where she normally had been before her injury, and somehow had even more strength. She had grown stronger, both emotionally and physically.
She was currently on her way to meet with the Hokage to report that she had been cleared from recovery. She knocked on his office door and waited for him to call for her. She sat at the chair in front of him and gave him her report on her finished recovery.
"Akari I think you're ready to finally use your Kekkei Genkai," he said, and at that Akari's heart soared. She was ready to finally carry on her family's legacy. The Hokage opened his desk drawer and pulled out the necklace. He handed it to her and she looked at the pendant for a few seconds, then clipped it onto her neck. The second she put it on she felt a cold wave wash over her, and a tingling feeling in her fingers. She looked back at the Hokage and could feel his chakra radiating off of him. She felt her own chakra start to match his, and jutsus she had never heard of flashed through her head instantly.
