Akari woke up to the sun starting to slowly rise from the earth below. She looked to where Kakashi had been sitting and saw he wasn't there. Panic started to rise in her chest as she untangled herself from her sleeping bag and checked the princes tent to find he was there safe and sound. Her worries still grew as she couldn't find Kakashi. She jumped up to the nearest tree and climbed all the way to the top in hopes of seeing him through the leaves. She stood on a branch and looked around, until she spotted the ninja sitting on another branch staring out at the sun, his fingers playing with a loose leaf. She let out a sigh of relief and hopped over to his branch.
"I'm surprised you're up this early," Kakashi started, and she scoffed indignantly.
"I was worried you had been kidnapped, or even killed! What the fuck is wrong with you just leaving camp like that?" She yelled, hoping it would wake the prince so they could start on their journey.
"I like watching the sunrise," he responded, his eyes still trained on the horizon in front of him.
"You were supposed to wake me so I could take watch," she said, still annoyed at the man next to her.
"You were sleeping peacefully and I knew you were tired. There was no need, I rarely sleep anyways," he stated. She was still annoyed, but less annoyed knowing he was being nice for taking over her shift. She sighed and pushed her flyaways out of her face.
"We should get back to camp and watch over the prince while he wakes up and gets ready," she finally said after a few minutes of silence between them. He nodded and glanced over to her before jumping back down to the camp. She went to jump after him but a gleam of blue and gold caught her eye in the tree trunk. There was a hole in the trunk of the tree she was standing in, so she reached in and grabbed a cool, hard object. She brought her hand back out and got a good look at what was in her hand.
It was a necklace with a thin silver chain, and the pendant hanging on it was about the size of the fingernail on her pinky. It was small and teardrop shaped, with a blue stone that had gold swirling through it.
"Where'd you get that?" A voice spoke up right next to her ear, and she jumped and lost her footing on the branch, falling backwards into Kakashi. He grabbed her waist and held her steady, laughing in the process.
"For a strong shinobi like yourself, I'm surprise you get so sacred so easily," he said, still trying to contain his laughs. Her face burned bright red as she steadied herself, her hand still clutching tightly to the necklace.
"Not funny, didn't laugh," she said darkly, which only caused him to smile at her.
"It's okay, I know you get nervous around me, no need to defend yourself. Wanna tell me what that necklace is though?" He said, and this time she turned her face away from him as her blush grew stronger.
"One, I do NOT get nervous around you. TWO, I found it in the tree trunk next to me," she huffed out, still embarassed. He reached his hand out to see it, and she placed it gently in his palm. He looked at the stone, then turned it over to see the back of it. He frowned and looked closer, noticing something Akari didn't.
"What is it?" She questioned, and he glanced at her, then back to the necklace.
"It has your initials etched on the back of it."

The second day of the mission went by a lot quieter as the jounin set up in their usual position, with Akari in the front, the prince in the middle, and Kakashi in the back, which Akari's two shadow clones in the forrest. Akari's mind was still churning at the mystery necklace. Kakashi had decided to keep it since Akari had no idea where it had come from.
