Chapter 8- the promise

Rea's POV
Time is precious. I learned that the hard way. Reed returned home late that night, I could tell something is bothering him. So I poked around in his mind and saw what he saw earlier. He doesn't know I did that, and he never will. He pulled me into a bone crushing hug and sobbed into my hair.

Have you ever seen an 18 year old boy cry? Well.....it's heartbreaking "Reed it'll be ok" I cooed and rubbed his back. "No Mom, you leaving where will I go?" he croaked in my ear "we will figure it out" I said soothingly. "Promise?" he pulled back from me and held out his pinky "promise" I locked mine with his. I shooed him off with his friends when the doorbell rang out.

I took my time walking to the door just to annoy the person but I was also changing my hair and eyes when I opened the door to face Zander. "Hello Christmas" he greeted forcing a fake smile "Zander" I nodded "are my cousin here?" he asked rudely. "In the game room" I smiled "their parents, uh need them home" he lied "you know the way" I stepped aside and let him in. I glared at his back as he walked into the game room then returned with his cousins flanking him. "Goodbye Christmas" they boys said in sync mi is Zander.

"Come back anytime, your all welcome" I smiled gently. 'The time is near young one' a voice I recognizes to well said 'I know' sighed back sadly. 'Its for the best' the gruff voice said. 'I know daddy, I know' I sighed closing the door.

But I made THE PROMISE that everything was going to ok.
