It had been two days since I revealed my troubled past to Matthew. It didn't really bother me, but I realized that I was learning to trust again. Maybe it's time to start trusting again.
I cried and cried of the thought of me trusting. I knew it needed to be done. I hadn't trusted in a while. "Open up to people," they say. But is that really the best thing possible?
Next thing you know, they would take your information and wouldn't care at all after that. Like you are invisible.
But, like I said before, it needs to be done.
He acted strange around me. His behavior changed. When he was near me, he often fiddled with his fingers as he talked to me, or he would try to act cool.
I often laughed at him, because he would normally knock something down trying to act cool around me.
Though, he ignored me most of the time. Every time I tried to say hi to him, it would either be a nod, or a laugh. Rather confusing actually.
Andrea started to drive. Andrea was a girl I met at the cafe. She went to Bishop Ireton, but I never seemed to notice her. We hadn't noticed each other until then. She was so nice. I absolutely adored her. She was so positive which made me think positively. I loved that feeling.
Traced me away from all of the negatives.
I looked out of the window of the car. I watched the areas as they went by fast. I often asked myself and my parents when I was younger, "Do clouds move?"
Though I seemed to realize that it was just the car moving and the not the clouds.
Silly young, foolish me.
"Wait, so this is the way to the stadium, right?" Andrea looked confused at the road. "Yes, this is the way. He texted me directions. It's not even far. It's behind the school,"
"Oh so he's texting you now?" She laughed. "Yeah, but it's not like we like each other or anything."
"Yeah right, next thing you know, you guys are making out in the locker room." Andrea said, right as we pulled up at the stadium.
She stopped the car, taking the keys out of the ignition.
The stadium was packed. The powerful white stadium lights shined onto the turfed green field.
I got out, and so did she. We paid for our admission. People went crazy with the body arts for the game.
I saw a boy that had a 'B' painted on his stomach. Followed by a whole group of all of the people with painted stomachs. Everyone was going wild for this game.
I scoffed and went into the bleachers. They were already chanting 'Bishop Ireton' over and over again, getting louder by the second. The game hadn't even started yet. The football players weren't even on the field.
Andrea nudged me in the shoulder. Everyone turned their gazes to me, as I heard my name being called and someone signaling for me to come. I got up, and walked down the steps to the bleachers.
I recognized the voice, almost instantly. He signaled to me as I made my way to the locker room.
Matthew stood in his football pants and cleats. Shirtless. He was...shirtless. I tried to move my eyes elsewhere. Didn't help, of course. "Hey Arabella. I'm glad you came!" I nodded as I looked at his shirtless figure. I found myself going into a trance.
He moved a bit, tightening the muscles in his somewhat toned stomach. I guaranteed to myself that he's doing this all on purpose.
"Um I was just." I stumbled for something to say.
"Oh haha," He slipped on his shirt, and shoulder pads, as well as his jersey. "I believe you are the good luck charm of this game. That's why I told you to come."
Matthew smiled. "I'm number 81, cheer me on when I go out there, okay?"
I returned the smile, "If that's what you want."
The football players whistled, as they walked by us and onto the field.
"That's what I need. The Vikings is the team we need to beat. Cheer my whole team on, but cheer me on the most." He winked. I looked down, my cheeks starting to feel heated.
He looked down as well, then back up, a smile spreading across his face.
A deep, aggressive voice boomed onto the field. "Matt Espinosa!" The voice scared me, making me jump. And it didn't even seem to surprise him one bit.
"I have to go, I'll see you later. I better hear you cheering." He smiled before leaving to go onto the field.
I sat back in the bleachers smiling. I couldn't help it anymore.

I cheered as loud as I could. As the game came to the fourth quarter, we were losing from 28-30.
The crowd went silent as The Vikings made another touchdown. I looked at their team. I remembered his exact words. He said he needed me for this.
Bishop Ireton just scored as well, but by a boy named Ethan.
Andrea joined in on the cheering. I saw the number 81 run onto the field. That's when my cheering went over the limits.
The ref blew the whistle and he was already gone dashing down the field. The ball was thrown to him, and he kept running with the ball. Defenders came at him, trying to tackle him at his feet.
Though, that didn't stop him. He pushed them off and continued to run. He finally made it to the touchdown lane, and threw the ball down, jumping up and yelling.
The crowd went wild, people jumping over the rail and preparing themselves to even run on the field.
The buzzer went off and the game was over.
I stepped off of the bleachers, my head going dizzy. I had no reason why. I looked straight at the field, my eyes closing slowly. I resisted the urge to close my eyes.
What was going on with me?
I started to lean forward. Andrea went to the bathroom before. I stumbled down the steps. Everything was blurry.
I saw the light to the locker room turn on, as laughing started. I recognized one of the voices. Chuckling away.
Then the sound of cleats hitting against the concrete.
I fell against the concrete, my head hitting it first.
The last thing I heard was his voice. "Arabella!" It was honestly and substantially more of a scream.
Then everything went black.
