i'm sorry im doing an author's note at the beginning but i just exceeded 100 reads and I wanted to thank everyone! please keep reading!
Erika POV:
The X Factor second and third week went down good, but I was really nervous because it was bootcamp. Today was the announcement day, where the judges decided who was in, who was out.
I step onto the stage with a bunch of other dancers, who I must say, are pretty good. I look into the crowd and see the boys. They supported me the whole time through, and I didn't want to let them down. I waited tensed up with the rest of the girls and guys, waiting for my name to be called out.
"Danielle, Abbey, Sam, Mimi, Destiny, Drake, George, David..."
I started to get nervous because the judges weren't calling my name. I looked over at the boys and they had serious faces on, all listening for my name.
"And last, but definitely not least, is..." Simon took a pause. This could be the end of my dancing career. If I don't make this, I will never dance again.
"Erika. Congratulations, you are all still in the competition and you will be going to a judge's house to perform." Simon let out at last. He had to stop making me all nervous. He did that the whole competition through, making my name be called out last. But at the results, my name was going to be called last definitely, because they call first place last.
Niall POV:
We all waited for Simon to call out Erika's name, but he wasn't calling it out. We all tensed up and listened. "And last but definitely not least, is..." Simon took a pause and the whole audience went silent. I heard some people by me say, "Please let it be Erika, please let it be Erika..."
And that's when Simon said, "Erika."
The boys and I took a breath of relief and so did Erika. She loosened up a bit and a smile crept onto her face. Soon was the judges house. The judge's house was always the hardest.
Good luck, Erika. Good luck...
Erika POV:
The judge's house I would be going to was Demi Lovato's. I already caught her attention during the first audition, so I got a dance routine with my choreographer that had some real, sad, depressing, strong-beated music. I practiced for hours every single night.
The day of the performance, I took a deep breath and ran through the steps in my head. I practiced expressions in the mirror one more time, and stepped in front of Demi. I knew the boys would be watching this right now and I smiled. I would do good for them.
"Hi Erika. What are you going to be dancing for us today?" Demi asked. "Well, I chose a piece called Broken, which has some drama in it, to represent my past and how I've changed as a person and a dancer in the past few weeks." I answered.
"Alright, let's see this." Demi said, and all of a sudden, I was nervous. I almost missed the first step, when I remembered the advice the boys gave me. I turned on the dance mode in my body and I was into it in a second. I forgot Demi was watching and I went full out, thinking about the boys and my dream. The next thing I know, the song is over. I look over at Demi and there are tears, streaming down her cheeks. She gave me a standing ovation and walked over and hugged me.
"I know what you've been through, and you expressed it perfectly through every graceful move you made, and I wanted to say thank you for taking this so seriously and to the heart." She said and I almost started crying, remembering the terrible memories I couldn't bare to think about.
I went back to my room and I relaxed. I called up Liam's phone and he put me on speaker so all the boys could hear me.
"Demi cried because of your moves. Harry almost cried too. But he's a crybaby so-" Zayn started but Harry cut him off. "I was not close to crying!"
I laughed, and tears filled my eyes. I could actually be close to becoming a pro dancer. "Thank you guys." I said, half crying.
"Aw, don't cry babe, it's all okay." Liam said and I laughed. "Tears of joy, Liam, tears of joy."
I told them I had to go and hung up. I took a shower and went to sleep. Tomorrow would be announcement day. I hope I make it. I really do.
Demi POV:
I don't know how that girl does it, but every time I watch her dance, it's like the first time. She makes me cry. But she may be too young for the dancing world. This is a hard decision...when I announce, it's poker-face time.
