Not friends... family

1:15 in the morning
Weiss POV:

I lay in the guest bedroom not able to fall asleep. I just lay there thinking about Ruby and I. I'm extremely happy that Ruby's father accepted us...but I'm scared... about what my father will say. I'm pulled out of my thoughts by the sound of a floorboard squeaking from outside my room. I sit up in my bed to hear the footsteps more clearly. "Who is up at this hour..." I wondered as I got out of bed.
I peek my head out the door seeing a shadow move from downstairs. I slowly creep downstairs seeing the door slightly open. I put on my jacket following the footprints.  I look down at the footprints "those footprints look familiar" I think as I look at the boot prints. I follow the boot prints leading me to a cliff. I immediately recognize the red cloak of my girlfriend. I was about to say something, but decided to not say anything. After a few moments of silence Ruby spoke "h...hey mom...I...came to visit you..." She says I noticed tears hitting the grass beneath her. "I made it to beacon just like I said I would...I wasn't expecting to get in two years early...." She mumbled. "I'm team leader just like you were...I have amazing friends and an amazing girlfriend..." She said with a small smile growing on her face. I felt a blush creeping across my face. "I actually made friends heh I'm kinda still surprised...I....hope you're proud of me...I'm trying to do the best I can to be a good leader...." Ruby murmured her ears lowering. "I still do wonder what why ozpin let me in early...he did mention my eyes...how they're silver like yours," Ruby said scratching her head. Ruby sighed "but...if he wouldn't have let me in I probably wouldn't have met Weiss... she's amazing...I really love her...like I expected dad likes her I hope you do too...well mom I should get back," Ruby said standing up. "I love you momma," she whispered placing a single rose Infront of the grave. She turned to leave but saw me. Her eyes widened slightly "Weiss...what are you doing here?" She asked with a surprised expression. "Oh...I heard you leave so I followed you," I say awkwardly. "Great job brain that didn't sound creepy at all!" I frantically think mentally slapping myself. To my relief she giggles my heart flutters hearing her adorable giggle. "Your such a goof weissy," she say cutely. I look past her at her mother's grave "is...that your mom...?" I ask holding her hand. "Y...yeah...." She murmured sadly. I hug her "I...I'm sorry I shouldn't have brought it up," I frantically say. Ruby smiles "it's ok...she was a great mom...a great huntress...she helped me build my first version of crescent rose...I miss her..." Ruby whispers as tears well up in her eyes. I pull her close to me hugging her tightly "I'm sorry Ruby...I'm so sorry," I whisper holding her tightly. She sniffs pulling her head back looking into my eyes "thank you Weiss...I love you so much..." She whispers with a small grin. I feel my cheeks warm up "c'mon let's go home ok..." Ruby whispers holding my hand as we begin to walk home. "Weiss..." She says drawing my attention. "Yes Ruby what is it?" I ask looking up at her. "Can you....sleep with me tonight...I just don't want to be alone...I miss you..." Ruby mumbled looking down. I smile placing my hand on her cheek "of course..." I whisper kissing her. She seemed to not expect the kiss but gladly returned it. "Thank you shorty," she say grinning. I playfully roll my eyes as I ruffle her hair "your a dolt...but.... you're my dolt," I mumble kissing her cheek. We walk back into the house. Suddenly the the lamp flipped on "and...where were you two...?" Yang said her eyes slightly red. We slowly turn to yang sitting in the arm chair. "Oh...h...hey yang...we...went to go see mom..." Ruby mumbled her eyes glancing at me. Yangs eyes went back to their usual lavender color. Yang stood up with a small smile on her face. "Well...you two should get back to bed...dad is showing us his training tactics tommorow good night guys," yang said walking upstairs. Ruby glanced at me with a small smile on her face. Ruby takes my hand leading me upstairs into her room. "Her room smells like roses and cookies and feels...warm...unlike my room back in atlas which...was cold and bland". I'm pulled out of my thoughts by Ruby's voice "weissy will you cuddle me...?" She asked with a embarrassed expression. I smirked as I crawled into bed with her "of course," I whisper as I cuddle close to her. "Thank you Weiss..." She whispers I kinda taken aback by here words. "For what?" I ask looking up at her she smiles looking back at me. "For always being with me after everything...I love you so much..." She says as tears of joy fill her eyes. I smile widely I bury my face into the crook of her neck "I love you too," I whisper. I kiss her neck sending a shiver down her spine. I kiss all around her neck sticking my hand up her shirt. "Ahh~weiss~~" Ruby moans gripping my shirt. I kiss her passionately she kisses back wrapping her arms around my waist. We begin to make out our tongues wrestle together for dominece this time Ruby wins pulling me closer. We pull away for air we both pant heavily. "I love you princess...we should get some sleep," she whispers. I nod cuddling close to her as she purrs.

The next morning

I wake up to talking from downstairs sounds like Ruby's voice. I rub my eyes as I stand up from the bed. I exit Ruby's room walking into the bathroom taking a shower and putting my hair up. I make my way downstairs seeing Blake, Yang, Tai, and Ruby eating breakfast. Tai is the first to notice me "morning Weiss!" He said enthusiastically waving. "Morning everyone," I say yawning. Ruby used her semblance to rush to me hugging me "morning weissy," Ruby chirped happily. Yang, Blake, and Tai all smirked wiggling her eyebrows. "C'mon you're gonna love my dad's waffles!" Ruby chirped with a big goofy grin leading me to the table. I sit down as Tai places a warm plate of waffles Infront of me while Ruby drinks a bag of blood. I stare at it for a moment before looking at my friends and Tai all sitting with me talking and laughing with each other. I feel tears of joy well in my eyes as I remember how my real family would never eat breakfast with me only winter and Klein would. "They are my family..." I think as the tears escape my eyes. Ruby notices "Weiss...what's wrong are you ok?" She asks. "I...I'm just glad I have you guys..." I say as I smile with tears of joy. They all smile hugging me including Tai "I'm not alone anymore..." I think as I hug them back.

In the front yard

I sit on the steps on the porch with Blake. "Alright girls come at me Ruby you first," Tai said with a confident smile. Ruby nodded placing her cloak on a tree branch. Ruby squared up running twords her dad throwing a punch but Tai quickly dodges it. I look back to the book im reading after about fifteen minutes I look back up. Tai was on the ground with ruby still standing with a proud smile. Yang helped Tai up who had a proud smile "you seem to have improved with hand to hand combat," Tai said placing his hand on her shoulder with a proud smile. "Now...drop and give me one hundred!" Tai shouted with an intense smile. "Yes sir!" Yang and Ruby shouted saluting dropping to the ground. "Weiss can you give me more weight please~" she coos. I smile walking over to her sitting on top of her as she does pushups while Blake sits on yangs back.

Time skip - back in the house

I sat with Ruby, Blake, and yang on the couch as we watch a movie. Zwei sat in my lap small Ruby had her arm around my shoulder. Tai went to the store for some groceries. The movie ended yang yawned "well I'm heading to bed," the blond brawler said. Blake closed her book "me too...goodnight guys," Blake said following yang upstairs. "Night guys," Ruby said waving. Ruby takes my hand she looks her in the eyes. "I love you," she mumbles I was a bit taken aback by her sudden words. "I love you too..." I say kissing her cheek.

That night
Ruby's POV:

Nightmare
It was dark all around...
"Weiss! Yang! Blake! Is there anyone there?!"
I walk around the dark void looking for my friends.
"Hello sweetie..." The familiar warm voice of my mother spoke.
"M...mom....." I mumble my hands beginning to shake.
"It's your fault....your pathetic...I never wanted a weak daughter," she said coldly. "This can't be real...this isn't real..." I whisper falling to my knees holding my head with my hands. My "mom" held my chin up to look at her. Her body turns black with red glowing eyes. The creature turns into Weiss. "No..." Was all I could say as tear fell from my eyes. "I never loved you... you're a weak pathetic monster...." She said coldly as she circled me. "You're a monster... you're no better than a Grimm...I could never love a monster," she smiles evilly. "This isn't real...this isn't real...."

I shot up in bed sweating profusely. I look around the room seeing Weiss laying next to me. Her eyes were open "Ruby...what's wrong?" She ask rubbing her eyes. I break down pulling her into a hug "you're still here!" I yell hugging her tightly. I cry into her shoulder "what's wrong Ruby...?" She asked rubbing my back. "I...had a nightmare...I saw my mom but...she was evil....and...I saw you....you said you didn't love me..." I mutter I know it was just a dream but I was still shook up about it. "Hey...you know I love you....and it was just a nightmare...I will always love you never forget that..." She says hugging me. "C'mon...let's go back to sleep....I'm always gonna be here...I promise..." She whispers with a warm smile. I nod kissing her forehead "I love you..." I mutter with a smile. She smiles warmly "I love you too...now get some sleep ok..." She say as she lays down. I lay down with her pulling her close to me hugging her tightly. I fall asleep with her in my arms "I'm not alone," was the last thing I thought before falling asleep.
