Weiss's POV:

The ambulance arrived taking Ruby and yang to the hospital. Blake and I made our way to the hospital where Ruby was. We burst through the doors running to the waiting room seeing yang sitting with a worried expression. "Yang! Is Ruby ok?!" I asked frantically feeling my heart race. Yang looked at us "she's in critical condition...three of her ribs are broken...one of them hit her lung...the doctors are doing what they can..." Yang said wiping tears out of her eyes. I felt my heart drop into my stomach as warm tears fell from my eyes. "w...will she be okay...?" I asked I could hear the worry in my voice. Yang looked at the floor "I....don't know..." Yang whispered at that moment the doctor came out of Ruby's room. "How is she....?" Yang asked with a worried expression. The doctors face morphed into a small smile "she's okay...she will have to stay here and rest for a few days..." the doctor said with a smile. I felt my heart skip a beat in happiness as my tears of sadness were replaced with tears of joy. "C...can we see her?" Yang asked in a surprisingly small voice. The doctor nodded opening the door leading us into Ruby's room. Ruby was laying upright in her bed starring out her window. "RUBY!!!" we all shouted in unison as we hugged her tightly in a group hug. "We're so glad you're okay!" Yang exclaimed happily. "I'm so glad you're ok...be more carful next time you...you dolt..." I whispered pretending to be mad even though tears were streaming down my cheeks. Ruby chuckled "I missed you guys too...i'm sorry I worried you," Ruby said weakly. "We wouldn't have found you if it wasn't for Weiss, she found all the clues..." Blake said glancing at me. Ruby looked into my eyes, I felt my cheeks warm up as I gazed into her silver orbs. "thank you princess..." Ruby whispered grabbing my hand gently. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed yang and Blake smirking at us. I glared back as they both looked away still smirking. Ruby had her arms wrapped around my waist I stroked her hair. "How do you feel...?" I whispered quietly. Ruby hugged me tighter "fine...." She muttered closing her eyes with a small hum. "We'll leave you two alone~" yang said with a wink as Blake dragged her out. I sat down in a chair next to Ruby's bed we sat in a awkward silence for a few moments. "I should've been stronger..." Ruby whispered looking down I was surprised at what she said. "W...Ruby what are you talking about...?" I asked attempting to take her hand only for her to pull her hand away. "I'm supposed to be the team leader...but, I let myself get kidnapped because I couldn't save myself...how am I supposed to protect you guys...if I can't even save myself...." Ruby mumbled tears falling from her eyes. "Ruby....." I place my hand on her shoulder to comfort her. She turned to me tears streaming down her cheeks "Ruby...it's not your fault... don't blame yourself...we choose to save you... you're our friend...and I love you," I said caressing her cheek kissing her forehead gently. Ruby blushed as a small smile grew on her face "thank you princess..." She whispered. Ruby buried her face into my shoulder purring loudly. "Cute..." I thought as I played with her short hair. I heard giggling from behind I turned my head seeing yang and Blake looking in taking pictures. "Cut it out you two!!" I yelled feeling my cheeks heat up, Ruby still had her face buried in my shoulder.

Time skip:
One week later
Ruby's POV:

I sat in the hospital bed playing on my scroll when the door opened. Dr. Williams walked in with a happy smile. "Good morning miss Rose how did you sleep?" He asked sitting down. "I feel fine sir," I said putting my scroll away he smiled. "That's great you seem to have made a full recovery...would you like to leave today?" He asked his dog ears twitching slightly. I nod with a big smile "yes I'd like to," I said getting up from the bed. He gave me my clothes and, I went to change "ah... finally out of that stupid hospital gown..." I thought as I put on my cloths. I walk around the halls of Beacon to my dorm. I stood outside my dorm a bit hesitant to enter. I slowly opened the door peering my head in, I saw no one except for zwei sleeping on Blake's bed. Zwei barked running towards me his short tail wagging happily. I chuckled "hey buddy...where are the others?" I asked scratching his fluffy ears. I looked around the room "maybe I should go look for them..." I thought as I patted zwei's ear goodbye as I left the room. I walked down the hall looking for my teammates. I stop when I hear shouting I run to the source. I see Weiss on the ground with a black eye as Blake comforts her, yang is shouting at cardin. I tune out Yangs yelling I just stare at Weiss, blood dripped from her nose as tear spilled from her icy blue eyes. I felt anger and hate rise in me as my eyes went blood red. I ran towards cardin at lightning fast speed, I punched him square in the jaw knocking him back. "Ruby?!" Yang and Blake yelled in unison I didn't respond I slowly walked past cardin's friends. I walked towards Cardin who was bleeding rapidly from his nose and mouth. "Y...you bitch... you'll pay for that..." He grunted as I grabbed him by his collar. I stared into his eyes with my blood red eyes "...you...hurt...her..." I whispered menacingly as I gripped my hand around his neck. I punch him in the face repeatedly hearing his nose break. Tears well up in his eyes "p...please...stop....I-I...it hurts...." Cardin whimpered holding up his hand in defeat. I pull my hand back to punch him even more but, I was stopped by yang grabbing my arm. "Ruby stop he's had enough!" Yang yelled. I begrudgingly comply dropping cardin, he quickly stood up running away with his friends "coward..." I thought coldly. I snapped out of my anger turning to Weiss. I ran to Weiss kneeling next to her "Weiss are you ok?!" I frantically asked tears welling in my eyes. Weiss didn't answer I turned to Blake "we ran into cardin...he got angry and punched Weiss..." Blake explained helping me help Weiss up. We went to the infermarry to get Weiss some help. The nurses bandaged Weiss and, gave Weiss a eye patch to help her eye.
