Y/n's pov.  

I calm myself down as blood trickles down my knuckle.

" What did the tree ever do to you? " I turn around and see Melissa.

" Melissa, I was just uhh. . . " I place my hands on the side of my waist as she approach.

" Punching a tree " she said.

" Yeah. . . .punching a tree, I was punching a tree " I said.

" Wanna tell me about it? " She asked.

" Gene and I was just having a conflict " I said.

" This is why I'm not getting married in the next five years " she said.

I snicker.

" It's fine, how many preys have you got so far? " I asked.

" Now don't change the subject, I need to bandage your hand " she said.

" There's a river near by, I'll have to clean it first " I said.

We both started walking down the trail.

" So wanna talk about it now? " She asked.

" It's Gene " I said.

" Him again, what did he do? " She asked.

" He threatened to kill Aaron just now, he said hurtful words to him and Aaron punched him after that, we head back to our tent so I can treat his wound, suddenly I stated out he's the one who's selfish and we both screamed into each other's face and now I'm thinking that two guys are fighting over me, I'm a mess and they're going to kill each other and it's my fault "

" Feel better? " she asked.

I let out the breath I was holding in.

" Much better " I said.

" Aaron is my little brother, he's also the crown prince of Falcon Claw, soon the ruler of the kingdom, he won't stop until he gets his queen " she said.

" He'll just get himself killed " I said.

" He doesn't care, he loves you Y/n, he'll do anything for you it's either kill or be killed " she said as we made it to a river.

We kneel down and I deep my hand inside, feeling the stinging sensation in the wound. I look at my reflection in the water.

" I feel like I'm a burden " I said.

" It's life, people come and go " she said.

I look down at the water again and just wince as I slowly clean the wound. Wiping the blood off, I take out my hand out of the water and hiss in pain.

Melissa take out a handkerchief.

" No " I said.

" What?, Why? " She asked.

" Small wounds should not be bandaged, we should let the oxygen enter the blood and let it heal itself " I said as I grab an herb on the ground.

" What's that? " She asked.

" Yarrow, it should stop the bleeding " I said and place it over the wound.

" I guess you learn a lot when you lived out there " she said.

" It's survival, you wake up, eat, work, clean yourself and sleep, then it's all over again " I said.

" I can't imagine what Gene has put you through " she said.
