Alex just stand there with the point of his dagger blade.

He struggles to plunge it in but I do feel the point poking my skin. I see him clenching his jaw with his grip tighten around the handle.

" I thought you wanted this? " I asked.

" Shut up " he said.

" What's pulling you back? " I asked, he groan and stab the dagger beside my head on the wood, I also felt a sting on my chest.

He turns around in rage.

Valarie rush to me and place a napkin on my chest as I realize he made a cut. I hold it myself.

" Valarie, leave us " I pass her Raiden's blanket.

" But- "

" Go " I said, she nodded and gave a death glare at Alex before walking away.

I look at Alex as he take deep breaths with his hand palming his face.

" Why? " I asked.

He throws his hand down and turn to me.

" You. . . . " He stops as I see tears form him his eyes.

" Alex? " I asked.

" Your the only family I have " he said.

" What about Catherine? " I asked, he looks away.

" Two years ago. . . .she left with my so called trusted friend " he said.

" So you know how it feels to loose someone " I said as tears form in my eyes.

" I thought I had everything, when you arrive at the village, my family died in the fire and I thought I was going to loose my brother because of you " a tear stream down his cheek.

" When I saw you pushing him out the door with Raiden instead of saving yourself, I had hope " he said.

" And all those years of torturing us? " I asked.

" I was in agony, I wanted you to suffer " he said.

" You stabbed your brother " I said.

" I wasn't myself " he said.

" And that you think I'd forgive you just like that? " I asked.

" When I tortured you guys, Catherine was all I had " he said.

" And now your alone, this is your retribution for what you did " I said.

" I wasn't thinking, I was too focus on getting revenge on you "

" And you went to Zane for help " I said.

" We were a happy family, until you messed up " I pointed at his chest.

" Everything should've been a happy ending if it weren't for you!, I didn't care if I was a princess or not, I loved Felix " tears stream down my cheeks.

" Raiden saw his father shot when he was five years old! " I said.

" I'm sorry " he said.

" Well it's too late " I said and walk away as I hold my wound.

I wipe away my tears and approach where Valarie is, she rushes to me with Natalie and Ash.

" Your Highness! " Valarie started to treat the wound.

" I'm fine " I said.

" What happened? " Ash asked and Valarie finish treating the wound.

" Just search the area to see if you find can find the box, I need some time alone " I said.
