Temilola10 for been my first reader. Thanks for the support.I was happy it was time for me to go home, today was just the first day but I was already exhausted.
"Good afternoon sir. " I greeted the driver as I sank into the back seat of the car. The driver turned on the ignition of the car. The car zoomed off and soon we were home.
I walked into the house. Our house, a cream and brown coloured duplex.
It had about five rooms and two sitting rooms. I always admired the flowers that decorated the compound.
I was about walking it the house when I noticed a strange car in the car park.
I walked into the house in search of the stranger. I was left clueless as everywhere was silent.
I was tired of searching so I hurried to my room to freshen up.
I fell on my bed, feeling completely exhausted . And drifted to sleep.
"Wake up Kaima!" A familiar voice yelled.
I rolled on my bed, rubbing my eyes before turning to see who it was.
Perhaps it would be the person who parked that car outside.
I thought to myself. But only close family members called me Kaima.
I couldn't believe my eyes I closed and opened it again. She was still standing beside my bed.
She was the one, but yet I couldn't still believe my eyes . This was too good to be true. She would have phoned before coming.
"Kaima what are staring at, or are you still sleeping. So you can't even give aunty a hug" she continued.
"Welcome aunty Stella" I said engulfing her with a warm embrace.
"Aunty why didn't you inform us that you were coming back". I said as soon as I pulled away from the hug.
It was my aunt, aunty Stella. She lived in Canada. It had been about ten years since I last saw her.
"Well, I wanted it to be a surprise" She said with her cheerful smile.
We walked downstairs chatting. I turned on the plasma TV glued to the wall.
We first watched a new episode of Mehek in Zeeworld. She was a fan like me.
After which she told me alot of stories about Canada. She had even brought me lots of gifts.
It was already time for preparing dinner. She suggested joining me in the kitchen. In no time we were done cooking.
I saw the expression on the face of my dad, mum and sis when they arrived , it all exuded sincere happiness .
The meal was very delicious. You can imagine two good cooks cooking.
"Yummy!" my dad said when he tasted the food.
My thoughts drifted to aunty Stella. She was my best aunt.
She once told me that she would never come back to Nigeria after so many bitter experiences.
One of which was the blackout she once experienced on arrival at the Nigerian airport. But here she was with me in Nigeria.I suspected that something important made her to come back .
Finishing my last assignment, I was about putting my reading lamp off when my sister's voice stopped me.
We haven't had time to discuss today."Kaima! " I heard her say in a soft voice.
This voice was the voice she usually used when she wanted to ask for something.
"Yes" I replied reluctantly.
"I will be going back to school soonest probably tomorrow" she told me.
"Okay", I replied faking a smile.
" I hope you are not angry with me? I will be visiting home regularly"she remarked.
You have always promised to visit for three years, now this is your final year. You have always failed to keep it. I thought to myself.
No, how can I be angry with my big sister? " I remarked faking a smile .
"Okay then, Good night "she concluded."Good night sis" I whispered. I was already feeling sleepy. I drifted to sleep.
