[smol implied depression warning]
(Patton x Remus)

"I wiLL SnAp yOuR NeCk WiTh a TuBA!" The dark figure growled.

Logan adjusted his glasses as he escorted Roman out of the interrogation room, "It's no use, he won't discourse on a topic besides threats." Patton was cleaning up the last of his baking creations in the joined kitchen/living room that they had just entered, "Maybe I could talk to him?" The interrogation room really wasn't an interrogation room, it was a really a large storage closet. Roman and Logan had found the intruder break into the Mind Palace. The two made enough room in the storage closet to place down a chair with him tied to it.

The fanciful side gave an apologetic smile to the sweet side, "I don't believe that is wise, Pops." Logan nodded, "I could not agree more. You are the heart of the group. I remain unaffected by his threats and such and Roman is able to manage, quite well. However, you may have a more difficult time and retain permanent damage if you were to interact with this man."

Patton frowned, "It has been 3 weeks and I haven't been able to see this mystery person. I've listened to you despite my instincts telling me to go in there, even when you're not around!" Patton's voice raised in volume and frustration, "But this has gone on long enough! He probably really needs a friend right now."

Roman opened his mouth as if he was about to protest but Patton cut him off, "Regardless, of the fact that he broke into our home. He is alone, most likely confused, and probably scared." The other two sides felt disgruntled but didn't move to stop Patton.

Patton grabbed a small bag of cookies, that he had made and a cup of water, before entering the closet and locking the door behind him. Patton closed his eyes for a moment and took a deep breath to calm himself before a voice reached his ears and Patton turned around to a unfamiliar sight.

"You're a new one." The other one spat, "what coME to törtuRę aNsWerS out of mE, have YA?"

A shiver ran down Patton's spine and he shook his head. The man's hands were tied to the arms of the chair and his feet were tied to the legs. Patton took a small step closer and noticed red rope burn marks around the man's wrist. Patton hadn't known much about what went on in this room but he had a feeling the man would be restrained in some way. Patton adjusted to remove his cardigan, "wHaT stRIPPing aLrEAdy?" Patton laughed despite his unease, "I doubt you'd ask that, if you knew me." Patton was the most child-like dad friend- when he goofed around it wasn't in that sort of way, but he found himself chuckling at the image.

Patton pulled out a sharp knife from where he had stashed it in his cardigan's sleeve. The restrained man drew in a quick breathe as fear flooded his eyes. Patton looked up after getting hims belongings situated and then picked up on the other's reaction. Patton was frantic to explain that he wasn't going to hurt the other. The other man didn't quite believe him, "YoU'vE gOt a fuññy WaY of shOWinG tHAt!" Patton cautiously approached the other and began sawing away at the ropes on his wrists. Patton was careful to saw the rope on the underside of the chair's arm as to not accidentally cut the other. This forced Patton half to tilt his head at an awkward and uncomfortable angle, but he made it work. Some cut ropes and sore hands later the other man could move both of his arms.

"Do you have rope burns on your feet as well?" The other looked at him skeptically, "...yes" Patton nodded and leaned down continuing his task. Patton knew from the beginning that untying this man was risky. He knew it was even more risky to untie his arms before his legs. If the man wanted, he could attack the kneeling Patton, grab the knife, possibly kill Patton, and getting out of the rope himself. Patton didn't mind this though, he knew the risks.

"All finished!" Patton said with a bright smile, "I'm not sure where to go from here but I suppose introductions are in order? My name is..." Patton frowned for a moment before smiling, once again, "I'm Thomas's morality, it's a pleasure to meet you! Oh, and I brought you some cookies!" Patton scoured the floor for a moment before finding the little bag and opening it up to offer the man one. Patton felt pressure against his wrists as he was slammed to the floor. Patton drew in a few quick breaths, a piercing pain shot through his body, and his back throbbed at the contact. Patton's eyes were tightly closed, as he expected more pain to follow. After a minute or two of no changes in his current position, Patton dared to peak at the sight before him. Patton opened one eye as he was afraid of what he would see, the other man seemed to be over him. Patton opened his other eye and his vision focused on the scene he found himself in. The other man had him pinned to the floor with less than a foot between their bodies. Patton grunted as he tried to move his arms but they were pinned down just above his head.

A gruff voice drew Patton out of his thoughts, "WhAt dO yOu WaNt?!" Patton blinked as he wracked his head for an answer that he was unable to find. A few expressions crossed his face before settling on a defeated one, "I don't know."

The taller man sighed and loosened his grip, "How DUMB are YoU?! You cãnT juSt frEE pEoPlE! What iF théy ATTACKED yOu like I dId?!" The kind hearted side sounded ashamed and sickenly depressed,"I don't really care. It would be a cool way to go," Patton realized he was saying his thoughts out loud and chomped his mouth closed in an instant. The violent man's expression softened but the other wouldn't look at him and Patton didn't notice his change in demeanor. He released Patton's wrists, moving his hands to opposing sides of the smaller boy's shoulders. He gently lowered himself onto the other who was throughly confused. Once he was on top of Patton, Remus wrapped his arm around Pat's waist and pulled Patton onto his chest as he rolled over and switched their positions. Patton realized that this was the other's way of comforting him and he had to admit it felt really niced to lay on this man's chest. They didn't feel like complete strangers anymore. A hand ran through Patton's hair, "It's okay." Comforting words filled the room as Patton realized he was sobbing against the other, "You're okay" Remus tried to recall the name Patton had given him, "M..Morality, you're going to be okay." A small voice piped up through his tears, "Patton." "What's that?"
Patton chuckled, "My name's Patton."
"Oh." Patton giggled a bit more as Remus continued petting his hair. After a nice few minutes of cuddling the comforter broke the silence, "Remus." Patton wondered if he missed something, "Hm?"
The over dramatically over annunciated, "REEE-MMM-US" Patton fell into a giggle fit at the strange reply and rolled off the confused but chuckling captive.

Remus sat up and adjusted so he was sitting facing Patton. Remus titled his head like a confused puppy making Patton gush at the cuteness. Patton cupped his cheeks but maintained their distance and gushed about how cute he was. Remus, having never received little compliments, had NO IDEA how to deal with this situation. Remus pulled away and adverted his eyes as his body betrayed him and his face burned red. This only fueled Patton's feelings about how cute he was. "Oh shut up!" Remus tried to look tough but his voice grew a smidge fond as he pulled Patton into a hug.

Remus opened up to the other sides, little by little, after this encounter. Remus hadn't broken in to harm the light sides, he found a new portal in Imagination and was just exploring, as he normally would. Of course when Remus did arrive and discovered pizza he wasn't one to pass up on an opportunity- Remus was also quite used to being faced with violence and such that being confronted by an enraged Roman didn't phase him. Patton and Remus grew even closer as time went on, Patton helped Remus adapt to spending time with the other light sides and took care of him when he needed to be cared for. Remus returned the favor, as he helped Patton work through his pain and Remus became very good at comforting him.

Remus never explained why he had said 'Remus' to Patton he just waited and waited and waited for Patton to figure it out. Patton was the only one who didn't know Remus's name. Not telling him was one of Remus's most entertaining decisions, to say the least. All of the sides bet on when he would figure it out. Patton went to extreme lengths to try to find out and Remus could never contain his laughter, they really did make the cutest pair.
