Patton peeled his eyes from their trance as he focused on the approaching figure. The surprise entrance would've caused Patton to jump, on a normal night—but tonight was far from normal. Patton sat limply as the tie wearing acquaintance neared. The cookie lover had exhausted all forms of distraction and was finally allowing the dark thoughts he had tried so hard to evade, to envelop his mind.

"It's nearly two in the morning, what are you doing up?"

"The world is prettier when everyone else is asleep."

"Falsehood, the appeal of different objects is unaffected by whether others are conscious or not."

"Maybe it's more beautiful psychologically," Patton took a deep breath, "There's something about being the only one to see something, it's like the world exists just for you, even if it's only for a moment."

Patton's eyes seemed to glaze over, Logan attempted to get the other to come back to reality. However, after a few questions the smaller man didn't respond to, Logan splashed a cup of water into his face. Patton squeaked as he jerked back, nearly falling over. "Something appears to be bothering you, Morality." Patton huffed at this causing Logan to raise an eyebrow, "Am I mistaken?" Patton looked away, almost ashamed? "I'm fine.. I'm just....." Patton searched for an excuse but his current state didn't prove to be very convincing on the 'being fine' aspect of things. "Lying is very unbecoming, especially from one as kind hearted as yourself. Patton expression filled with confusion, "How did you know I was lying?" "I took your pulse," Logan stated matter-of-factly. Patton looked down at his wrist before pulling back in shock, "When did you get there?!" Logan incredulously scanned Patton for any trace of an explanation for his current behavior or, more hopefully, the cause of his current state. Patton curled into himself as Logan stared into his soul, Patton didn't like being looked at as though he needed to be fixed, like he was an equation in need of solving. Logan approached Patton as he would a wounded animal, "Patton I believe due to your disconnect from current events and exhausted demeanor, lack of sleep is negatively affecting you." The ends of Patton's mouth quirked up for a moment but not in his normal, cheery manner. Logan frowned at this and continued, "I believe it would be most suitable for me to escort you to bed."
"Nnmmmhh."
Logan's brows furrowed, "Pardon?"
"No, I don't wanna go."
"Why not?"
Patton adjusted his positioning, clearly uncomfortable.
"How can I convince you?" Logan sighed, they weren't going to get anywhere like this. Patton perked up at the before appearing even more distressed than before. Logan had absolutely no clue what to do. Logan mentally reviewed methods of comforting others and things that Patton enjoyed before one option drew his attention.
"Would you care to sleep together?" Logan drew in a quick breath as he realized the connotation of that wording. He frantically explained that physical assurance had been scientifically proven to boost an individual's physical and mental wellbeing. Logan had expected the other to be excited, as the
starry-eyed one often tried to snuggle with the other. While the taller glasses wearer had never pushed him away, he had never reciprocated. Despite Logan's prediction of being happy at the offer, Patton simply nodded. Without thinking Logan placed his hand on Patton's forehead to check his temperature. Even more surprisingly, Logan found himself yearning to connect their lips. Logan realized their close proximity when Patton's head turned slightly down towards the floor, against his touch. Logan pulled away slowly, as though he didn't want to pull back at all, "No fever, as far as I can tell. Do you still wish to cuddle?" A quiet, "Yes, please," was all the confirmation he needed. Logan scooped Patton up into his arms and walked to Patton's room, knowing the familiarity would likely bring Patton more comfort than his or the uncomfortable seating in the living room. Logan pulled back the covers and sheets while struggling to support Patton's bodyweight at the same time. After a few moments, Logan placed him on the bed removed the slippers on the other's feet, before covering the other with the 'covers.' Logan had changed into his regular clothes when he left his room this night..or should he say this morning, it was roughly 2 am? Regardless he needed to change into something more suitable for slumber. In a swift flick of the wrist, Logan was, once again, in his unicorn onesie. Patton, on the other hand, didn't change when he left the comfort of his room—which helped Logan avoid a slightly uncomfortable situation. Patton seemed to be barely conscious when Logan crawled into bed beside him. Logan pulled the smaller boy into an embrace as they laid there. Logan held the other gently enough that Pat could easily pull away if he so desired. Logan found a small smile cross his lips after the other muttered, "What would I do without you." Patton fell asleep and Logan did soon after. In the morning they wouldn't discuss the events of the previous night. Logan would once again find him awake and offer to snuggle until he fell asleep. This became routine for them, they even found themselves looking forward to the quality time. One night after a particularly tiring day, the morality oriented side fell immediately asleep after entering his room. Logan checked the kitchen then the living room then the library then the kitchen again then the living room and every other shared space before returning to his own room and falling into a fitful sleep. Patton was pretty much unaware of the fact he had missed their nightly cuddle session, he was too tired to do anything other then head right to bed. Even if Patton had thought about that fact, he knew those nights were for solely his benefit, as long as he was productive and well rested, why would Logan care?
