"Is something wrong?" untag ko kay Kat.
She was mixing something in her styro cup while staring blankly into the distance. Parang ang lalim ng iniisip niya.
She turned her gaze to me, looking upset. Tama nga ako. May problema nga siya. Napansin kong maputla ang mukha nya at halatang stressed. Matamlay din ang kilos nito.
We never really talked that much these days. Aside from the fact that we're busy here at work, Kat seemed to be hiding something. I can't just barge in into her private life and monitor her every move.
Yes. We're friends and she trusted me some of her top secrets but knowing more might exceed my limitations. She never mentioned about the guy she was with at the airport. I really wanted to know what could be the real score between the two of them.
Not that I want to meddle with her life. It's just Kat wasn't herself anymore and I want to carry some of her loads if she lets me to.
Knowing the truth really hurts, all the time.
"I'm fine. It's just a headache. Pagod lang ako," iling niya. Napahilot sya sa kanyang sentido.
After a moment, sinimulan na niyang ligpitin ang kalat sa counter.
"Alam mo, you can take a rest naman eh. I think you know it better than I do. Kaya mong gawin 'yon. Walang magagalit." I shrugged and pouted my lips, giving her a hint that I believe she understood.
She has good reason for doing that.
She heaved a sigh. "I'm really okay, Zac. I can manage.
"Go home, take a rest, and get your mind off things atleast for a day, okay? Kami na ang bahala dito. You're not feeling well." I insisted.
Magsasalita pa sana siya but I cut her off before she could even speak.
"I could not afford to build a monument to honor your hardwork," biro ko at marahan siyang tinulak papunta sa locker para kunin 'yong gamit 'nya.
"No buts. No excuses," mariing sabi ko.
"Just thank me later," sambit ko at tumango lamang siya. Her expression was still blank.
After Kat left, I managed to accommodate few customers.
I sat down for a while.
Then, a familiar guy entered.
Naka button down long sleeves ito na naka tuck in. Nakatupi ang sleeves nito hanggang siko.
"Hi. Excuse me. Is Katrina here?" he asked politely, smiling.
"She just went home, Sir.
