DEV'S POV

I groaned internally when Spoby interrupted us but knew, it was for the best. I didn't want things to get awkward between us. Niha is my anchor, my sanity. Without her, I'd be completely fu*ked up. I always want to start my day with her by my side and end my nights with our endless conversations. It's incredible how much my life has changed since she entered it.

I watched Spoby dart across the room with a towel in his mouth. This little bastard is lucky to get a bath from his Mommy. Since Niha started staying at our penthouse, we agreed to share his care. I grabbed the towel from him and began drying his fur. "Thanks, buddy, for showing up at the perfect moment. Otherwise, I might've really fu*ked up things this time," I said, recalling the almost-kiss.

I saw Niha dressed in a black salwar suit, her wet hair clinging to her skin. A pair of silver jhumkas dangled from her ears, making me jealous as they were close enough to feel her warmth. A small bindi adorned her forehead, and her eyeliner highlighted her black doe eyes. Her cute, plump lips were coated with a light pink gloss that I always wanted to wipe away and replace with my own lips. The tiny mole just above her upper lip always drove me crazy.

"Are you going somewhere?" I asked curiously. It's the weekend, and there's no way Niha would be dressed up like this unless she had something planned. I know how lazy she gets on weekends.

"Yes," she replied. "I got a call from the manager. We're about to land an event contract. This is my first, so I want to meet the client personally and make sure everything is perfect."

A few weeks ago, Niha started her event management company, DazzleNest Events. She leveraged social media and digital marketing techniques to expand her reach, and I'm really happy to see her proving herself. I hope the clients like her ideas and decide to work with her. Her lovely uncle, Vijay Sharma, had hired a manager to help ease her workload, much to her annoyance. He wanted her to balance her studies, her role as vice president at Sharma Constructions, and now this new company.

"Okay, I'll accompany you," I offered. She headed off to do her morning pooja. Just like Maa, she is a devoted believer in God. Sighing in disbelief, I went to freshen up in my room.
