Jaden's POV
"Bye Jaden," she said quietly. I froze.
FLASHBACK>>
"Halston, please..." there were tears in my eyes.
"Why did you even come here Jaden?" she sighed, looking down. When she blinked, tears cascaded down her cheeks.
"I'm sorry, that's why... I want you back," I mumbled.
"No," she shook her head. "You don't just get to say sorry and everything goes away."
"I know," I sighed, running my hands through my hair.
"I-I can't do this Jaden, stop calling, stop coming around my hosue, just stop," she started getting angry. "Because you stopped caring about me months ago, you can't just start again. That's not how it works."
"Halston, I-"
"Bye Jaden," she said quietly and closed the door in my face.
Bye Jaden.
Bye Jaden.
Bye Jaden.
END FLASHBACK>>
I turned around and looked at her. She had a confused expression on her face. I walked back to where she was and put my hand on her cheek.
"What? What did I say?" she asked.
"N-Nothing," I bent down and pressed a soft kiss to her lips. "Just wanted to make sure you were real."
She gave me a 'you're so full of shit' look but rolled her eyes and smiled away.
"I'll see you, okay?"
"Okay," she bit her lip and I smiled, heading back up the stairs.
A couple days later, Josh and I said goodbye to the Sway boys and headed to our new apartment. It wasn't as big as the Sway house, but it was still pretty nice. Nessa and Halston had helped us move in the day before, but today was our official "moving in" day.
"You ready?" Halston stepped into my room. Well, it was empty now.
"Yeah," I took a deep breath in and released it.
"You're doing the right thing," she said quietly, walking over to me and putting her hand on my back.
"How do you know?" I turned to her.
"Are you happy?" she asked.
"Yeah..."
"Then you're doing the right thing," she smiled, making me smile. I leaned forward and kissed her, "thanks Hals."
"No problem, now c'mon, you're new apartment is waiting," she laughed and I intertwined my fingers through hers. Together we walked downstairs. Josh and I said goodbye to the boys and filmed a little segment for his Vlog, then headed to our new apartment.
When we got there, Nessa pulled Halston into one of the rooms to talk while Josh and I did a quick tour for his YouTube channel. When Halston and Nessa rejoined is, Halston looked off.
"You okay?" I mouthed to her. She nodded and gave me a tight lipped, obviously fake, smile. I just gave her a weary look.
"Chinese?" Josh asked.
"Huh?" I looked back at him.
"Should we order Chinese?" He asked, giving me a weird look.
"Oh, oh yeah," I nodded, "Chinese is good."
"Cool," Josh said.
"I'll order," Nessa stood up and Halston followed her, "I'll, uh, leave you two to talk."
I gave her a confused look.
"Thanks Hals," Josh smiled at her.
"What is going on?" I looked at him, once again confused.
Josh sighed and turned to me, "Nessa and I are breaking up."
No way, I just stared at him.
"We both have done a lot of growing over the past few months and we just both need to find our way," he explained. "I don't know man."
There were tears gathering in his eyes.
"Halston knows?" I asked.
"Yeah," his voice cracked, "Nessa told her a couple hours ago."
That explains why she was acting so strange...
"I'm so sorry man," I pulled him into a hug and Josh just broke down. He clung to my shirt and just cried and cried.
Halston's POV
We could hear cries from downstairs. Nessa and I had gone upstairs to order the Chinese food while Josh broke the news to Jaden.
"Oh my gosh," Nessa cover her mouth with her hand and there were tears in her eyes. "It's so hard to hear him cry... he never cries."
"It's okay Nessa, c'mere," I pulled her into a side hug as we both listened to Josh's broken cries.
Three hours later, all the cries had died down and all the Chinese food had been eaten. Josh and Nessa went for a walk to talk somethings over, leaving me and Jaden to do the dishes.
"I dry, you wash," Jaden told me.
"Why do I have to wash," I rolled my eyes, slightly smiling.
"Because if I wash, nothing will get cleaned," Jaden smirked.
"Why do you hate washing dishes so much," I laughed, turning on the water and starting to wash the dishes.
"I don't know, I just do," he shrugged, getting the towel ready to dry the dishes.
When we had finished, Josh and Nessa were still gone, so Jaden and I sat at the kitchen table and just talked.
"What's up? What's on your mind?" He asked me.
"What makes you think something's on my mind?" I asked, twirling one of my curls.
"Because you playing with your hair, you only do that when your thinking about something or lost in thought," he shrugged while scrolling through his phone.
"It's just... we all thought Josh and Nessa were gonna.. ya know, be forever," I sighed. "I mean, they were the best couple. They treated each other right, they made long distance work for several months. Yet here they are, broken up."
"And your worried about us," Jaden finished my thought.
"Yeah, us. I mean, maybe it was a sign that we broke up, maybe it's not meant to be," I thought out loud.
"And maybe it's a sign that we found our way back to each other," Jaden put his phone down and reached for my hand. "And besides, we have something they don't."
"What?"
"Maturity."
I raised an eyebrow.
"You know what I mean, Nessa is 17, they got together when they were young. We did too and it didn't work out. This time we're back and older and more mature," he shrugged.
"Great, now I'm feeling old," I sighed, smiling.
"You are old," he laughed.
"What?" I gasped jokingly.
"I mean, you drink tea, you take naps, and you bake like crazy!"
"That doesn't make me old," I pouted.
Jaden leaned forward and pressed a kiss to my lips, "it's kinda does, but it also makes you cute."
"Oh does it now?" I giggled.
"Yu'p'," he popped the 'p'. You just smiled and shook your head, maybe I need to start focusing on the positives instead of what could go wrong...
