Song of the Chapter: Patience by Guns n Roses
Weeks after the events that took David and the guys from me, I had finally began to accept that they were gone. I spent most of my time working on the house, getting it back to the way it was. I really didn't want to relax, otherwise my mind would wander and I'd be sad and missing David and the guys once more. I needed to forget them, though it was rather hard for me to do. I wished life was so much easier, but for me it never seemed to get any easier.
Sam had showed me the comic book that gave them all the tips about the vampires. I was shocked that they had gotten such information from a comic book. Knowing that the information came from this comic book though, once Sam had fallen asleep that night, I snatched up the comic and burned it. I wasn't chancing Sam going after any more vampires, though it really wouldn't have changed anything since Edgar and Allen knew so much. I knew if they wanted, they'd drag him down and talk him into helping them destroy more vampire lives.
Over the weeks, I had talked to my Dad at least once a week. I had told him everything that had happened to me and he had listened to my every cry. He wished so bad to be able to comfort me when I needed someone the most. It was difficult to talk to him through the phone and not get emotional. After about three weeks, I started talking to Dad more than once a week. I planned on going to visit him some time next week, once Lucy had time to drive me.
After the new year, I knew it would be harder for us to have time to visit my Dad. I honestly had the idea to move to Florida soon, that way I could be closer to my father. Maybe after my nineteenth birthday, I would move and live closer to him. Once I lived closer to him, I knew I'd be able to see him more often. With this idea in mind, I might be able to see him more than I ever thought I'd be able.
"Rosalie! You have a phone call!" Lucy exclaimed, before I walked inside from the porch swing and took the phone from her hand.
R - Hello?
P - Yes, is this Rosalie Bundy?
R - Yes sir. Why, may I ask, are you calling?
P - Miss Bundy, my name is Daniel and I'm a police officer. There's been an accident about an hour ago.
R - What happened?! Is my Dad okay?!
P - Well, Miss Bundy, there was an altercation between your father and another inmate. I'm sorry to inform you, but your father was dead when we found him.
R - What?! Are you serious?!
P - I'm very sorry, Miss Bundy. The police chief is going to announce his death as an execution, which was named as electrocution.
R - No! You can't do that! That's not what really happened! You're lying! That's against the laws and rights of the inmate!
P - I'm sorry, Miss Bundy, but that's what is going to happen. You simply have no control over the decision. There will be legal allegations if the truth is let out at all.
R - But, you can't---
P - Have a good day, Miss Bundy. I'm sorry for your loss. We'll send you any of your father's things that were left behind.
I dropped the phone on the floor, feeling my eyes fill with tears. I let out a loud sob, before I crumbled to the floor and held my face in my hands.
"Rosalie?! What happened?!" Lucy exclaimed, as she sat beside me and wrapped her arms around me.
"D-Dad is d-dead! I-I lost m-my D-Daddy!" I cried loudly, as Lucy tried to console me.
"Oh Rosie, I'm so sorry. I didn't expect that to happen. I promise we're here for you. We'll be here for you for whatever you could possibly need." Lucy stated, though all I could do was bawl my eyes out.
I couldn't keep myself from crying; all I could do was sob my heart out. I had lost my father, someone I had been confiding in for so long. He was the only birth parent I had that truly loved me. I now had no one, except for Lucy, Grandpa, Sam and Michael. They weren't my father and they never would be.
"I-I'm going to lay down." I whimpered, before Lucy let me go and I was able to run up to mine and Michael's room to lay down.
I threw myself on the bed, buried my face in my blanket, and cried for hours. As the sun went down, I heard Lucy calling me for dinner. Michael came up to the room and knocked lightly on the door frame.
"Time to eat, Rosie." Michael commented, causing me to sigh.
"I'm coming." I replied, before I got out of bed and followed him down to the table.
I sat down next to Michael, as the table became awkwardly quiet. It was as if everyone was staring at me and was trying to avoid saying anything that could possibly provoke me. I sighed sadly, eating my dinner, or what I could eat of it anyhow. Once I was done, I picked up my plate and excused myself from the table. I then went right back upstairs and decided to take a shower. I hoped the shower would clear my head, but sadly it did not.
Afterwards, I laid back down in bed and thought about the news I had just gotten today. The sinking feeling of loneliness was heavy on my heart, but I could not do anything about it right now. As I listened to the family talk downstairs I realized just how lonely I really was. I needed to get away from everyone and start fresh, after saying goodbye to my father.
That night, I waited for everyone to fall asleep, before I packed up my duffle bag full of clothes and cash, leaving everything else behind that I didn't need. I did grab a few things to remember them by, before I closed my eyes with a sigh and zipped up my bag. I went around to Michael, Sam and Lucy, kissing them lightly on the cheek, before throwing my bag over my shoulder and walking out the door. After closing the door, I made my way into the night, leaving my skateboard behind me as well, along with my past. Goodbye old life...
