"Earth to Sophie." Biana waved her hand in front of Sophie's face.

"Oh sorry I was just thinking about how midterms are in a week." Sophie told her friend.

"Crap." Biana muttered.

"Lemme guess," Sophie paused to open her locker then grimaced. It was obviously Elwin's day to pick the DNA strips flavour. "You haven't started studying yet?"

"Yes, but I can probably get twenty minutes in at lunch if I eat fast."

"Hey how are you doing with the phones?"

"Actually pretty well. I got 6k followers on tiktok now. You?

"Truth be told, I haven't used tiktok yet."

"Why don't you come over to Everglen this weekend and we can make some?"

"Sounds good!" The girls waved goodbye as Sophie walked into her telepathy session.

    At lunch Sophie walked over to the table where Keefe sat.

    "Hey." she said as she sat across from him.

    "Hey." Keefe said and suddenly became very interested in his food.

    "Hi guys!" Fitz walked over to join them. Keefe subtly moved away from him, but that didn't matter. Instead he sat down right beside Sophie. "You look tired." he said pointing at Sophie with his fork.

    She blushed. "I was up late studying." She was surprised when Keefe didn't have any snarky comments about her studying.

    "Sorry I'm late." Dex sat beside Sophie. Keefe muttered something that sounded like "Am I at a job interview or something?"

"I was helping Biana study." Dex continued. Dex and Biana had been getting closer recently.

"I ship it." Sophie said, trying out some of the new human lingo. Fitz laughed making Sophie's face turn a pink shade.

"It wasn't like that..." Dex stammered but his blushing said otherwise.

"I've got to go." Keefe said.

"You've barely touched your-" someone started but Keefe had walked out by then.

What was up with him? Sophie thought to herself. "I'm gonna go find him." she tried to stand up but Fitz held her wrist.

"Just let him cool off." Fitz didn't let go of Sophie's arm until she sat back down.

"You know him better than I do..."

"I do."

Sophie believed him but it just felt so utterly wrong.
