Well, so much for getting rid of my anxiety. School started in less than 10 minutes and Sophie felt defeated. Keefe hadn't even acknowledged the last part- the most important part- of her message for him.

Currently, she was slowly feeding Iggy the poster board signs. He was working on SHE TOOK MY PHONE AWAY. I DIDN'T KNOW YOU HAD CALLED ME. Sophie heard Edaline talking to someone on her imparter in the hall.

"Sophie," her mother poked her head in Sophie's door, "we're leaving in a minute, do you have all your gifts?"

"Yep." Sophie held up a bag full of gifts, everyone's was in there except for Keefe's.

    "Great, let's get a move on, Grady's already at the leapmaster."

    Grady did not look particularly happy when Sophie walked up to him. "Is everything alright?" She asked him. "Hey where's Sandor?" Sophie looked around, Sandor was usually like a giant shadow- always behind her.

    "He's just sorting out something." Edaline said. Sophie's mother's mouth was a flat line but she was obviously fighting hard to keep it that way.

    "Guys what's going on?" Sophie was getting really confused.

    "Nothing kiddo let's just get to foxfire." Grady tried to act normal but he looked really uncomfortable.

    "Ok..."

~~~~~
    Sophie sat at a table in the cafeteria. She was going to fail. She had been extremely distracted during the exams, but not for the reason she had thought it would be last night. No, instead of thinking about Keefe she was thinking about Grady and Edaline odd behavior this morning.
Sophie felt bad about it but she inwardly groaned when Fitz came over. She had enough boy troubles already did she really need her ex added on top of everything?
    "Hi Sophie!" he had been overly friendly these last few weeks.
    "Hi." Sophie mumbled.
    "Well I was wondering if you had checked your thinking cap yet?" Sophie sighed she really didn't need this.
    "Because I wanted to give you my gift in person." Of course he did. "Here." he pressed a black box into her hands. Sophie opened it, inside was a necklace and a piece of paper. She pulled out the piece of paper. It said in neat writing: Sophie I really regret my decisions, please forgive me.
    "Forgive you for what?"
    "Sophie, I really don't like how things ended between us. I'm so sorry. Also please don't feel like I'm holding you down. You're an amazing person, no matter who you date." Keefe. Sophie's head swam. She pushed the thought down. She couldn't think about Keefe. She just couldn't.
    "Fitz I... I can't."
    "Sophie what's wrong?" He put his hands on top of Sophie's. "Is this about Keefe?"
    Keefe. Sophie shook her head. She could think about Keefe.
    "No?" Fitz looked so hurt.
    "No Fitz, it's just, please."
    "What? I don't understand. Is it because I said Keefe?" Keefe. She couldn't think about Keefe! Her eyes began to sting. She could cry here. Sophie ran to the girl's washroom.
"I don't understand!" Fitz cried after. She hated to hurt him like this but she couldn't cry here.
In the bathroom she sank down onto the toilet seat. She didn't cry, she just sat there and thought.
She had liked Fitz and he had made her happy, but he wasn't the right guy for her. That was it. There was nothing wrong with him. He just wasn't the right guy.
Keefe though...  No. She couldn't think about it.    She tried to push the thought down but it didn't work. It was like trying to drown a beach ball. It just kept coming back no matter how hard she pushed it down. She just kept pushing it down until she couldn't anymore. She let the tears some.
She heard someone open the the bathroom door.
    "Sophie sweetie." Edaline knocked on the bathroom stall. "Can you please come out?"
    "Lemme guess. I failed." Sophie opened the stall tears running down her face.
    "Oh no! You passed! Is that what this is about?"
    "No." Sophie washed her hands. "It's about stupid boys."
    "This is probably not a good day for it then." Edaline muttered under her breath.
    "For what?" Sophie looked up from the hand dryer. She couldn't see anything special.
    Edaline glanced around the room to make sure they were the only people in there.
"What's going on." Sophie was so confused.
Edaline didn't answer her question. She just said "You can come in here." To no one in particular.
After hearing Sophie's mother Sandor awkwardly came into the bathroom. He was holding the none iggy eaten signs Sophie had made and the gift for keefe, a custom made tunic that said "Back the t-rex up!" Sophie laughed and cried. She was so relieved to see Sandor, he had been gone all morning. Next came in Grady.
"Dad?" Sophie asked.
Grady looked at Sophie. "While I might not show it. I love you and support you in everything you do." her dad said.
"Ok?" Her dad just hugged her and walked over to his wife.
Finally the last guest arrived. Keefe.
