"Is this your first phone? Or do you already have a number?" the guy at the apple store asked.

"Um, first phone," Sophie answered. Her, Edaline, and Grady's act as a human family was working quite well. 

After they had defeated the Neverseen, the black swan figured the next thing was to get the humans back in the loop about everything. The first step in their plan was for Sophie and her friends to get an online presence, knowing that it's easier for teenagers to become "influencers". Earlier that day Della and Alden had come to get a "surprise present" for their three kids, the third being Keefe. The black swan knew his dad would greatly disprove. Dex had also gotten a phone that day. Later Tiergan would bring Tam, Lihn, and Wylie to get their phones.

"Which of these phone numbers would you like?" He turned his computer to face Sophie.

"Um... that one I guess." She ended up picking the number that ended in 42, just like her human mom's phone. He pulled out her SIM card and did some weird stuff Sophie could never understand. It was fast but Dex probably could have done it faster.

"Who credit card is this on?" the man asked as he inserted the SIM card.

"Mine," Edaline said. The man put Sophie's phone in the box and handed it to her. Sophie talked to Grady while Edaline worked with the weird human money.

"So a case next?" her dad asked.

"Yep," Sophie had been eyeing up the dark blue one with constellations on it. Sophie went over and grabbed the case, the Apple Watch and AirPods had caught her eye though. She decided to also get them as well and a back up case. The other case was yellow at the top but ombré to a orangey pink at the bottom. She could't decide which she would use first. She also decided to get a three pack of screen protectors. The man at the counter eyed Edaline nervously when Sophie brought all the items. Edaline brushed it off. To a human all the items plus an iPhone 11 pro would have been super expensive, but to the elves it was nothing. She couldn't imagine the looks Della and Alden got getting the same stuff but times three, though the Vackers did give off an aura of wealth.

After leaping home and setting up her phone Sophie downloaded all the social media apps Mr. Forkle had told her to, instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, and, TikTok.
