7 || Ok Girlfriend

Sophie's first post had exploded. Literally exploded. It got 2.3 thousand likes overnight, and the next day it got up to 5.9 thousand before the evening. It was crazy. And for some reason everyone thought Sophie and Keefe were dating.

Sophie still hadn't used Keefe's credit- or debit she still didn't know- card yet. She was saving it for something special. Something they could do together, but first she wanted to know what was happening between them she just didn't know how to ask. Midterms were in two weeks though. She would ask him then.

Keefe knew he should be studying for midterms, they were in less then two weeks after all, but he just couldn't concentrate. His mind was on an infinite loop of Sophie looking as hurt as she was the other day. He felt horrible, like he had failed her and he would never be able to protect her. Keefe wanted to protect sophie. He wanted to keep her safe from everything. He wanted to make her happy.

Sophie picked up her phone after a few seconds.

"Hey." she started. Her voice sounded hoarse.

"Are you ok?" keefe asked.

"Yeah why?"

"You just sound tired."

"Well sleep is for the weak..."

"Oh my gosh Sophie, when was the last time you slept."

"I got a few hours last night..."

"A few?"

"Two..."

"Sophie!"

"Midterms are in a few weeks!"

"Yes but you don't ever study."

"You're not my boyfriend, you don't know everything about me."

"But I could be."

"Keefe!"

"What?"

"I'm hanging up."

"Ok girlfriend."

"Keefe!"

Keefe just laughed. His plan had worked. Sophie was ok. Well sleep deprived but that was normal for her.

Things were going back to normal. But was that what Keefe really wanted?

Sophie kept on thinking about their call. Did Keefe really want to be her girlfriend? No... she pushed the thought away. He was just sarcastic like he normally was. But she would still tell him. At midterms in the halls with all the bubbles of candy and confetti. She would tell him then. No backing out. This was what she wanted. She wanted to be his girlfriend.
