Chapter 21

Jordan's POV:
As I'm wheeled away from Mal I just want this x ray to be done so I can kiss my girlfriend. I'm in the x ray room and I lie there for about 5 minutes until the first photo is taken. The doctor comes back in to roll me onto my side and takes another. He rolls me into my stomach and takes the last one. I get rolled onto my back again and taken back to Mal.

"Oh Jordie are you ok?" Mal says running over to my bed when I get back into the room

"I'm ok baby. I missed you so much I'm sorry that this hasn't worked out properly"

"No Jordan. We never knew this would happen. I'm just happy to see you and know that you aren't dead" she says making me laugh

"Come here I need a kiss. I haven't kissed you in ages" I say as she walked back over to me

I pull her down and kiss her passionately. I missed her so much. There wasn't a day that went by where she was on my mind the whole time. We break the kiss because we hear someone clear their throat. We look over and Tobin and Christen are sat there too.

"Oh hey guys" I say laughing

"Did you forget we were here?" Chris says

"Erm maybe"I say still laughing

"Come on Jordan how could you forget me" Tobin says punching me in the arm

"Tobin fuck off" Mal says pushing her away hard

"Baby calm down" I say rubbing her hand

"No Jordan. You are lying in hospital and she fucking punches you" Mal says angrily

"Mal it's ok I'm not hurt she was only joking" I say trying to calm her down

"No Jordan that's not right"she says storming out.

"Sorry Jord" Tobin says

"No it's not your fault. I don't know what's wrong with her" I say sadly

"Give me a minute let me go and check on her" Chris says.

"Ok thank you Chris" I say smiling half heartedly at her.

Christen's POV:
I walk out into the corridor and find Mal sitting on the floor crying. I immediately scoop her up into my arms and hold her until she stops crying.

"What's wrong baby?" I ask her

"I just hate it that Jordan is hurt. Why did she have to be that selfless and look after the girl?" She said sobbing

"She did it because that's who she is. She is the kind of person to do anything for others and that is amazing"

"I know I don't know why I'm so upset tho Chrissy"

"I think it's because you have missed her"

"I know. I just wish she wasn't so selfless" she said getting up

"I know but that's also a good thing isn't it?"

"Yeah I guess so"

"Come on let's go back to them both. Make sure you apologize to Toby too" I say walking her back to the room.

We walk back into the room together and Jordan and Tobin are sat there looking so confused.

"I'm sorry tobs for pushing you and getting mad at you" Mal said hugging Tobin

"Don't worry kiddo" Tobin said kissing the top of her head

"I'm so sorry baby for snapping at you" she says as she walks over to Jordan and buries her face into her neck

"Mal are you gonna explain why you snapped?" I asked her

"Uhhh ok. I snapped because I got upset that you risked your life for that girl I just wanted you to be safe and I got annoyed because you nearly died for her. I'm sorry babe I know it's stupid" Mal says pulling away and standing next to me holding onto my arm.

"Don't worry baby it's ok I'm sorry for upsetting you. I don't think I can change that I'm really sorry, I'm just used to putting other people first because it's my job to save people" Jordan says looking down

"No it's ok babe I understand I just need to get used to it" Mal says

"I know. Come here" Jordan says opening an arm for Mal to snuggle next to her.

That's when I notice that Jordan is holding her arm limply. I don't know if she has even noticed herself but she's not using her left arm at all.

"Jordan Johnson, we have your x ray results" the doctor said walking in with a few pieces of paper

"Do you want the good news or bad news first?"

"Can I please have the good news" Jordan said sitting up a bit

"Of course. The good news it that you will be alright. You have no severe injuries"

"Oh that's good. What's the bad news?" Jordan asks

"Well you have 2 broken bones. You have broken your left arm and you have shattered your patella. You are going to have to have surgery on your leg" the doctor said passing her the x ray photos

"Ok thank you doctor. What will we do first?"

"We will put your left arm in a cast first then give you about an hour then we will take you into surgery"

"How long will the surgery take"I would guess about an hour or 2"

"Oh ok thank you. I work for the fire service, how long will it be until I can work again?" Jordan asks nervously

"I'm sorry to tell you but it will be about 6-8 months. I'm sorry"

"Oh ok" Jordan says sadly looking back down at her hands.

"It will be ok Jordie. You can stay with me" Mal said rubbing her hands

"Thanks babe"

"I will get the nurse to come in to put your arm in a cast she won't be long" the doctor said walking out.

"I'm so sorry this has happened Jord"I say going over to hug her

"Thanks Chris"she says holding onto me tightly with her right arm

"I'm sorry Jordan I will help as much as I can"Tobin said smiling at her

"Thanks tobs"

"Hi my name is nurse wright and I'm here to do your cast Jordan" the nurse walked in dragging a table of equipment behind her

"Nice to meet you" Jordan says smiling

"Do you mind if I adjust your bed so I can put your arm in the cast better?" She asks

"No go for it" Jordan says as the nurse sits her up more.

"I'm going to give you gas so I can do it pain free. Please would you make sure she keeps on breathing the gas please" the nurse said to Mal passing her the breathing apparatus

"Yeah sure" Mal says

"Come on Jordie" she says putting the mask over Jordan's face

"This will only take about 20 minutes so it won't be long" the nurse says getting to work on Jordan's arm.

20 minutes later the nurse is leaving the room and Jordan had a white cast on her arm. It starts from half way up her bicep to her knuckles.

"Jordan please let me write on your cast" Tobin says jumping around like a child

"Yeah if you go and buy sharpies your can all do it" Jordan says making toby jump around more

"Fuck yeahhhhh thanks Jord" Tobin says running out the room

"What do you want to do now babe" Mal says to Jordan.

"All I want is to kiss you and hug you" she says kissing Mal's cheek

"Right I'm gonna go and make sure Tobin hasn't killed anyone yet. We will bring you some food back too" I say walking out the room.
