Chapter 23

Jordan's POV:
I feel myself drift under the anaesthetic and I can see me and Mal sitting on the beach together. Its weird, I'm not in my body I'm sat at the side looking at us both. I watch as I get up and walk to the bar to get us drinks. As I'm walking back there are 4 guys who pull up with guns. The shoot all across the beach at anyone. I drop the drinks and run over to Mal but I was too late. I watch her die in my arms and I couldn't do anything.

I feel my body leave the beach and I'm in target and I can see my sister, Mia. I try shouting out to her but she can't hear me. She's walking along with another family but I can't see any of their faces. When I go to touch them my hand passes straight through them.

Everything goes black and I'm just in darkness. There is nothing but I can hear a faint beeping. I'm guessing it's the monitor that does my heart rate. I just let it get louder and louder but I keep my eyes shut.

Mal's POV:
I'm sat in Jordan's room nervously waiting for her to come out of surgery. I'm curled up in momma Chris' lap. Tobin has fallen asleep already and me and Chris are wide awake. It's been about an hour and a half since she went in so she should be out soon.

"Momma Chris?" I say breaking the silence

"Yeah Mal"

"Are you and Toby gonna get married?"

"Yes we will but Tobin wants to propose to me first so I'm waiting for her" she says smiling at me

"How did you know Tobin is the person you want to marry?"

"I'm not really sure how to explain this. But Tobin has always been there for me, she helped me through when my mom died and she been there at my highest moments too. When I'm with her I feel safe and like I can do anything the world throws at me" she says looking over at the sleeping Tobin

"Wow Chris that was beautiful. You and tobs are perfect for each other" I say leaning into her chest

"Thank you baby" she says stroking my hair.

A few minutes later Jordan is wheeled back into the room with 2 or 3 doctors.

"So Jordan did well in surgery. We reconstructed her knee cap, it has a few metal pins in it to support it. She has a full leg cast on so she won't be allowed to walk or put weight on it. She will need the cast taken off in 6 weeks and she will wear a brace for 8 weeks after the cast is off" the doctor explains

"When will she be awake?" I ask nervously

"She should be waking up in the next 20 minutes"

"How will Jordan get around because she has a broken arm and a broken leg?" Christen asks the doctor.

"So, we have a wheelchair that she can maneuver herself but we need to try and make sure she isn't pushing herself around too much"

"How is she going to shower?" Christen asks again

"We are giving her this waterproof cover to put over the cast. Someone might have to help her shower too"

"Can we draw on her cast?" Tobin says making us all laugh

"Yes of course you can" the doctor says laughing

"Thank you" I say as he walks out

As soon as he walks out I walk over to my girlfriend and hold her hand and kiss the back of it. I look up and she begins to wake up.

"Hey baby" I say kissing her forehead

"Can I have some water please?" She rasps out

"Of course babe give me a second" I say running over to the water jug and cup that the nurse left before. I put the cup to her lips and let her drink it slowly

"Is that better?" I ask

"Yes thank you princess. Come here" she said as she opens her arms for me to hug her.

"I'm so happy you are ok Jordie" I say nuzzling into her neck

"I'm always going to be ok babe if you are here" she says as I kiss her lips gently

"Mallory move over I want to see her" Christen says

"Yes ma'am"I say laughing

"Hi Chris"Jordan says

"Hi Jord. Are you ok?" Christen asks my girlfriend

"Yeah I'm fine thank you" Jordan says as Christen starts to cry

"Don't worry Chris I'm here. Come here" she says opening her arms

Christen just flops into her arms and is sobbing and all Jordan can do is comfort her. Me and Tobin don't really know what to do just to let Jordan comfort her.

"What's wrong Chris?" Jordan asks her

"I just really hate hospitals and I don't want you to go" Christen says wiping her tears

"Christen Press look at me. There is nothing that is going to make me die here. Look over there"she says pointing to me and Tobin "that is my beautiful, perfect, amazing, loving girlfriend that I would do anything for. Also there is you and tobs who are my best friends, you guys would help me with anything. Why would I let myself die when I have you 3 beautiful people here with me?" She says making me and Tobin cry too

"Oh come on Tobin did you have to cry?" Jordan says laughing

"Shut up Jord. That was beautiful what you said" Tobin says walking over and hugging her too

"Come here babe?" Jordan says moving over in her bed for me to lie next to her

"Are you ok babe? Do you need anything?" I ask her

"All I need is my 2 best friends to be happy and no more tears and I need my gorgeous girlfriend to come and lie with me in my bed and let me fall asleep on her" Jordan says patting the spot next to her

"Of course tell me if I hurt you babe" I say getting in slowly

"Trust me you won't be able to hurt me with the amount of morphine they gave me" she said laughing.

"Ok baby whatever you say" I say lying down next to her

"Christ tobs you don't have to stay you know" I say to them both

"We might go back and shower we will be back later Jord" they say hugging her before they leave

"Ok see you later" Jordan says as they walk out

"Can I please sleep on you?" She asks me

"Of course you can baby" I say

Jordan pulls me closer to her with her good arm and puts her head on my chest and I wrap my arms around her. She puts her broken arm on my stomach to I don't leave.

"I love you more than anything Mallory Pugh" she says as her eyes close

"I love you to the moon and back Jordan Johnson" I say as we both fall asleep.
