Armin's POV

"(Y/N), what are you talking about...?"

Eren? What the-? Why'd she say Eren's name-?

She suddenly froze when I asked her that question. Then she slowly moved back, and fell to her knees. I caught her staring at the ground, not moving a muscle.

"(Y/N), uhm... ahaha, what the hell? You know I'm-Armin, right? Not Eren?"

"I... of course I know that." She didn't even look up at me.

I was more concerned than angry. I'm sure she had a logical explanation for this small mistake, right?

"Then... why'd you say his name?"

"I wasn't... saying it in the way that you thought I meant."

"Then how did you mean it, (Y/N)?"

(Y/N) didn't answer me. She simply continued to look down at the grass we had been laying in.

"(Y/N)?? Helloooo??" I waved my hand in front of her face.

"I- I've made it a battle..." (Y/N) tightly squeezed her hands, ever so silent.

"What?" What's she talking about? And why won't she just answer my question? Is she avoiding it?

"Armin... I didn't mean to. I didn't think I'd take it this far!" She finally looked up at me, and she looked so... troubled.

"(Y/N)? Babe, what are you talking about?" What was happening-?

"I just wanted to protect you, Armin. I wanted you to myself. I didn't want anybody else laying their eyes on you... I was so afraid I would no longer be the only one in your life." She grabbed my hand and squeezed it.

"Look (Y/N), that's sweet and all, but I have no idea what you're talking about. Can you please explain?"
I was really confused.

"Armin, it was Eren. I had no idea how he felt, and when I found out, I was so... cruel to him! I had no idea what to say, I was so confused! I was scared! What if he took you from me? What if you found out and left me? I had no idea he was in love with you,  and I... didn't know what to do!"

I- what? In love with me? What??

"What do you mean he's in love with me? Did you and Eren fight?"

"I mean he's in love with you, Armin..."

After that, she explained everything that happened. How he was being beaten up by a few guys... How she helped him, and found out, and how she yelled at him. Everything about Eren.

"...And you didn't think to tell me this before? But still... it doesn't answer my question. Why did you say Eren's name?" I gently clenched my fist.

"I... was trying to make sure he heard. He saw. I wanted him to know everything we were doing... because I wanted him to know that you were mine." She slowly looked up at me.

"Are... Are you kidding me?" I widened my eyes.

"No, Armin... I'm sorry." Her grip on me tightened again.

I could feel the anger rising inside me.

"So you didn't do this because you wanted to? You didn't fuck me because you loved me?? Why, (Y/N)? To get back at Eren? You would... you would use me to fight with him?!" This was not the explanation I was expecting. At all.

"No, of course n-!"

"Then what was this?! You left hickeys all over my neck! You touched me all over with your hands! What was this?!  Did you even think about me at all that entire time?? How I was feeling?!"

"What do you think I was doing?!" (Y/N) raised her voice and let go of my hand.

"What do I think you were doing? I thought that you were kissing me passionately. I thought that you were touching me because you loved me! I was actually excited! I thought you were showing just how much you cared for me by doing that! I have no fucking idea what you were doing anymore!"

"I..." She grew quiet.

We said nothing for at least a minute.

"...We could have done something about this together. Why did you have to keep it to yourself? Don't you think I had a right to know what was going on? It would've explained so much." I tiredly facepalmed.

"I'm sorry, Armin. I really am." She reached for my hand.

After that, I got up and silently went back to my bed.
