Grant thrust open the double doors of the visitor centre... but there was no one in sight, not even a mouse He still held Ally in his arms, the sheer shock of what'd happened made her noticeably less mobile than the other two children
"Hello?" Grant called, his voice echoing in the seemingly abandoned main hall The thick plastic tarps hanging from the scaffolding swayed in the light breeze coming from the outside
Grant took the children into a large dining hall, circular tables and chairs in an abundance along with a long buffet table filled with food "I've need to find the others and get you to a doctor" Grant said, placing Ally onto the top of one the tables "Lex you take care of them, ok" Grant said, Lex nodded, her arms still wrapped around her little brother
Ally was silent, her eyes glued to her lap She was embarrassed and most of all ashamed, she'd let her dad down, she knew she had He'd be so angry when she got home... if she ever managed to survive this island.
"Hey" Grant cooed, Ally looked up with damp eyes "Don't worry, I'll make sure that Daddysaurus goes easy on you" he joked, smoothing down her sparked up hair with a warm smile

Ally gave a weak smile back but then looked back down to her lap, she was scared of her dads reaction Grant sighed, placing his hands on either side of her face to bring her gaze back to him "Your alive, that's all that matters" he said whipping away the stray tears that fell from her eyes
Grant got to his feet and turned back in the direction of the door "I'll be back soon, I promise" and just like that, he was gone and the kids were left alone.
Ally didn't move, she thought she could be so clever and go to an island without her dad finding out Owen managed to get as far as Indiana in a food truck before their dad finally caught up with him But she wasn't like Owen, she loved her dad... Owen didn't Owen loved his mom and when she left he couldn't understand out why she left him behind.
Ally was pulled from her daze, a soft hand tapping at her shoulder She turned to see Lex holding a plate of food in front of her, consisting of small cakes and fruit slices Ally smiled and took the small plate from Lex, resting it on her lap as began to fill her stomach with the sweet confectioneries.
