Song - Ripples By John Williams

Night came sooner than expected, the men were all asleep including Nick as he lay beside a large puddle on the ground

Sarah and Kelly were fast asleep in the tent they'd pitched at the edge of the trees, Ludlow was snoring rather loudly with his hip flask still in his hand

Malcolm, Jack and Ally were still awake and wandered around the camp checking on the men as they slept
Ally would've liked to of had at least an hour but she was too afraid to shut her eyes, fearing as soon as her eyes closed something bad would happen.

On coming footsteps pulled Ally from her desperate thoughts about her toasty bed back in Montana, she turned when she saw the person approaching and was pleasantly surprised to see it was Roland returning with the two men he'd taken out on his search... but no Dieter

Malcolm, Jack and Ally came to sit beside Roland as he guzzled down the canteen handed to him
"Didn't you find him?" Ally asked

Roland took a breath as he pulled the canteen from his lips
"Just the parts they didn't like" he sighed

Jack could feel Ally noticeably shiver with disgust at the hunters words

Ally wasn't particularly fond of Dieter but she'd never wish a fate like that on anyone

"Ally, please try to get some sleep" Jack asked, trying to prevent his daughter from hearing more
"But I'm not tired" she groaned like a child

"You've yawned like thirty times in ten minutes... see!" He pointed to her just as she began to yawn once again
"We've still got a little way to go, but I'm worried you'll keel over before we start moving again" Jack insisted

"I'm okey, I'll be ok-" her sentence was cut short by yet another yawn
"He's right my dear, you should try to get some rest and better now than later" Roland agreed.

Finally, Ally relented and headed towards the tent where Kelly and Sarah were breathing heavily in there current snoozing states
Ally placed her pack on the ground to serve as a makeshift pillow whilst she hung her plaid shirt over the tarp in the centre of the tent

She laid down on her back, her hands folded over her stomach

She released the breath she hadn't realised she'd been holding and shut her eyes, allowing darkness to envelop her senses and take her to a safe place for just a little while.
