I woke up twenty minutes before my alarm clock rang, I don't know why I woke up so early, wondering, if I go back to sleep now, I know I won't want to get up afterwards. I decided to get up now and start getting ready, I went to look for clothes to change into, I decided on a pair of black skinny jeans and a blue blouse, nothing too fancy.  I went to take a shower to finish waking up. I dried myself and put on my clothes, I still had ten more minutes still seven. Debating if I should bother putting on makeup. I ended up just putting on eyeliner and mascara, with tinted chapstick.
I looked over at the clock, seeing it was seven. Classes don't start until seven thirty. So I decided to go to the small cafe down the street and get a coffee. Even though it was close by, I decided to drive there. I parked my car and went inside. It was a small cozy cafe, I went to the make line, while looking at the menu, I had decided to get a black coffee with a blueberry muffin. I tensed up, getting the same feeling I had all day yesterday, the feeling of being watched again. Out of instinct I looked around to see who it was and didn't see anyone.
Once I got my order, I went to my car. I saw I still had a good fifteen minutes until seven thirty, I decided to start driving to school. As soon as I got to school grounds, I went to the courtyard and took out my schedule out of my bag, I had four classes today. I went to my first class, which was basic math. I went straight to the seat in the back, and took out my notes. Once class started, it went by fast. The feeling of being watched still very prominent.  My second class was art, I didn't have to take it, I wanted to though. As soon as I as I walked in, I saw Dylan sitting alone in the back of the classroom with his head down. So I decided to go and sit with him, once I sat down he looked up surprised. Once he saw who it was, he got a big smile on his face. "Hey you!" he said surprised. "Hey. What are you doing back here all alone?" I asked him, curious as to why he was alone in the back. "Well, I don't actually talk to anyone here, when it comes to art class, I like to keep to myself." He explained, I was surprised thinking he was such a social butterfly by the way he acted when we first met yesterday. "Oh Okay, I can leave you alone, if that's what you want." I said while starting to get up. "NO! I-I mean no that okay, you can stay here, I don't mind." He said almost yelled. He gave me a small smile, so I smiled back and said, "okay." Class started and I noticed he didn't take noted or draw anything, I noticed he didn't even have a notebook. I didn't think much of it, so I let it go.
Classes today went by fast, I noticed Dylan was in all my classes today, even the first one. I guess I was so worried about being late, I didn't even see him in my first class. As soon as classes ended at one, I went straight home and quickly did my assignments, I had to go to work today. I've been working at a small cafe 'Petite treats' at the close to where my parents live, for around three years now, I'm a manager there now, but I mostly work the cash register.
The owner Sarah, is a very sweet lady in her late 40's, with 2 kids. She's had the cafe since she was in her mid 20's, her husband passed away 3 years ago in a car accident, and ever since she's been quiet and keeps to herself, her 2 girls are still in high school. They visit the cafe often to help out, they actually haven't been to the cafe recently, which is odd, but I guess they do have lives of their own.  I got to the cafe around 2, I had the even shift, from 2:45pm to 8pm, it wasn't all eight hours of work but it was something at least. I love working there, the environment was very friendly, and happy. I parked my car and went inside, a small chime sounded the moment I opened the door, indicating that someone had entered.  Missy was there, she was a 26 year old, blonde hair, blue eyed beauty. She was a quiet girl, she was probably one of the nicest people you could meet, she was married with a cute 3 year old named Emily. She worked here full time.
The moment I entered the cafe, she looked up from a coffee she was making to see who entered, the moment she saw me she smiled. "Hey Alex!" She exclaimed. "Hey, how you've been? How's Emily?" I asked while going behind the counter, looking at the watch I had on my left wrist I saw that I had five minutes until I had to clock in. I turned around to look at her, while simultaneously hiding behind a wall so that customers wouldn't see that I was just leaning against a wall doing nothing. Missy had just finished handing the coffee to the customer when she turned around to clean," Emily is fine, she came down with a cold two days ago, she's doing better, a little cough here and there, nothing too serious. I've been fine, Ted has been doing better at the law firm. I think he is finally going to get that promotion he's been chasing for a while." she sighed, finishing cleaning the coffee machine. I looked at my watch again seeing, that I had to clock in now.
I went to clock in at the office in the back, when I saw that Sarah was here. "Hey." I looked at her, she was hunching over a couple of papers, looking deep in thought. "Hey, Alex." she said not looking up from the paper she was looking at. I went to the back hooks and took my black apron that had my name tag on it. I walked to the front seeing that it was just a bit busy. Like usual I walked around the cafe seeing what needed to be restocked and what needed to be cleaned. I went to clean a table in the back, and went to the display case, seeing that the pastries need to be restocked. What I love about this cafe is that the pastries that the cafe has are all freshly made.  With that being said, I went to the back where there was a small kitchen.  I took out Sarah's recipe book and the ingredients to bake, no matter how many times I bake the pastries, I can't seem to memorize the recipes. 30 minutes later and I was taking some pastries out of the oven and onto the counter to cool. After cleaning and putting things away I put the pastries into their perspective containers and went to put them in the display case.  Once done I went to the cash register to take orders. Time went by fairly quick, the cafe was full, which isn't surprising, this cafe shop was popular in the neighborhood. Once my shift was over, I went to the office to clock out and was surprised Sarah was still here, "Hey, I thought you had already left?" I asked her, she looked up from typing on her computer to face me. "No, I'm staying to close the shop night." I just nodded my head, and clocked out. I took off my apron hung it up and got my bag from the hook and went to my car. I noticed that Missy was also getting ready to leave, the shop doesn't close until 10, so that means that Sarah is going to be here alone for the last 2 hours. She occasionally stays to close, it's a safe part of the neighborhood, so there really isn't anything to worry about.
