Lucy's POV:
With those words he left the station and probably went home.
I stood there perplexed and looked after Stuart, some tears forming in my eyes.
When suddenly someone tapped my shoulder, I nearly jumped in shock because it was so unexpected to me. I turned around and looked at a sad John.
"W-what exactly happened with Stu? How can he know..?" I stuttered in a shaky voice.
John cleared his throat and guiltily glanced at his feet.
"Stu found one of your letters and I had to tell him everything.. He's very mad as you can see.."
I couldn't control myself any longer and started sobbing, hugging John closely to find some consolation. He hugged back and rubbed my back gently to show me I wasn't alone.
"John.. What now? I have nowhere to go and my life is destroyed..!" My crying got harder with every word.
John rubbed my back helplessly, trying to comfort me and almost started to cry as well.
"It's okay, darling. You can come with me and live in Mimi's house with me." He cracked me a soft smile.
"B-but will that be all right with your aunt?" I sniffled and looked up at the young man. Of course I didn't want to cause him trouble but he just shook his head.
"Don't worry, sweetie. Mimi may be a bit heartless at times, but she will understand your situation. And if she doesn't accept it, I will sneak you in."
He wrapped his arm around my waist and took his bag, then started walking out of the train station with me. We both went to the house where John lived with his aunt, who was already awaiting him at the garden gate.
Mimi was very glad to have John back, so the first thing she did was hug John tight and they didn't let go of each other for some minutes.
I just stood there awkwardly and didn't say a word, being afraid of interrupting them.
But after a while Mimi seemed to notice me and stopped hugging John.
She held her hands to her waist and contemptuously glared at me.
"Who's that?" Mimi hissed at John.
