"The Avatar is escaping!!"
In hearing those words Kai immediately looks up from her hands that were previously fiddling with the fabric of her shirt. The soldier, who was guarding her cell, shot up from the wall he was leaning on groaning in annoyance. Kai shot him a smug grin.
"Oh you guys are so screwed"
The guard shoots her a glare before storming out of the room and slamming the door behind him. Kai only hums happily to herself, knowing full well that there was no way that those idiots were going to catch the avatar.
Despite where she was and what was probably going to happen to her soon, she couldn't help but let her mind wander back to her tribe. Kai had dreamed of that day for years, granted she never thought it would go down the way that it did, but nonetheless it was surreal to see everyone again. Especially Sokka. There wasn't a day that went by that she didn't think about him, I mean they were best friends. Kai couldn't remember a time when she wasn't friends with Sokka or Katara. She had known them since they were all babies.
A sad smile escaped her lips as she realized that she may never see them again, which in hindsight was probably a good thing, they would most likely want nothing to do with her knowing what she's done. Who she's become.
Kai is jolted out of her thoughts when the door to the cell block flies open revealing the very familiar child avatar.
