I clenched my eyes shut, calming my breath as I squeezed my fists tight.
Lucas was living with the enemy.
Through the black of my eyelids, I sensed movement around the kitchen.
The sound of something shattering echoed through my ears, and I snapped my eyes open to see Lance standing over a pile of broken glass.
"Goddamnit!" Lance's rough voice tumbled throughout the room as he kicked the glass on the ground.
I looked up to see Chase standing not too far from Lance, his lips pressed into a worried frown.
I looked down again to spot the remnants of one of our glass cups.
I stood petrified, my thoughts frozen within my mind.
What were we going to do?
I felt the familiar knot in my throat, but this time, my breathing didn't fade out.
I blinked, no tears dropped.
I unclamped my fists, no shaking occurred.
Yet, a bitter, unknown feeling ran rampant throughout all parts of my body.
It took me a second to process why my body had no reaction to the horrible news, meanwhile I watched my brothers lose their sanity, but then it hit me.
Loss of hope.
It was the last straw.
There would be no happy ending for me.
I inhaled deeply, still standing stiff as I witnessed my brother's reactions.
Lance formed an angry snarl across his face, his eyes welling in frustrated tears. He reached to grab another glass to smash, but Chase quickly intervened, pushing Lance's hand away.
Lance looked up, finally snapping out of his manic rage to release a grunt of frustration, and place his hands over his head.
"Well, what's the game plan?" West frantically spoke up.
He shied under the judge-mental glares that immediately followed his question.
West was stupid. He didn't understand.
"There is no game plan," I hissed.
West shook his head, looking around the room at everyone's stoic faces, "There's always a game plan with the Hansen's."
Kade released a laugh from under his breath, "Do you not fucking get it West?" Kade scrunched his nose up at him, "This isn't some game where we can work out all the kinks in the road. Matteo fucking molested her," He spat loudly.
I slightly flinched, surprised at Kade's blunt mention of my interactions with Matteo.
It was weird that everyone knew now.
There was no secret anymore, just my bitter reality that everyone was aware of.
"There's got to be something we can do," West whispered, his head hanging low to the ground.
