The quietness in the house made me nervous, knowing full well that within a few hours Xavier's house would be filled with people, family. Mason loved the excitement in the air, something I would deem more alike to anxiousness.

Xavier was communicating with other packs, despite everyone trying to have a peaceful holiday these calls seemed more urgent, more strenuous than Xavier was willing to let on. But I kept my mouth shut. Luke found himself busy, starting to sing Christmas carols around the house, Mason at his feet as they hung random ornaments and doo-dads around the house. Similar to my mate he had tried to get business completed ahead of time, trainings and meetings were all planned and organized for up to a week off for festivities. A whole damn week.

Linds, Jax and the kids would be arriving shortly, with Xaviers family to join in the afternoon. Xavier's family had just learned of us and I was nervous for the introduction, people would be courteous but it wouldn't take long for the dust to settle, there would be mayhem, floods of questions. With a mate that was just a friend and a two-year old son, not many would consider a cup of tea.

I was surprised to see Xavier's car pull up, I hadn't felt him leave the territory, he hadn't spoken a word of leaving. Mason ran to the window, to see his dad as he pulled up. Waving excitedly through the bursts of snow, Xavier walked in with his hands full. Christmas coloured bags decorating his arms, bows and packages wrapped in assorted colours.

"Woah Da- Xavier what are those?" Mason pouncing on his father as he walked through the front door. Xavier smiled clearly not missing the almost spoken words. However, I bit my lip in worry, whether I wanted it or not the attachment between the two was grounded.

"You have got to wait until tomorrow to see" Xavier sang back teasingly. I was surprised, no in shock by his open playfulness. Mason leaned on his tip toes, trying to look into some of the closer bags to catch a glimpse. "Nuh-uh-uh, these are for the morning" he said swinging the bags just above Mason's head.

"Just one more full night?" our son wiggled his eyebrows, and he finally looked back to me.

"One last sleep." I promised to the sweet boy in front of me.

He smiled as he ran up the stairs, "Hey Luke, Mama told me all you were getting for Christmas was coal this year!" Xavier roared in laughter and I couldn't help but notice, a smile on my face mirroring his.

"Linds and Jax coming soon?" my mate asked, his arms still full. I nodded in response, getting up to help him. "No, no, no. I got this, but I do need your help with something else."

I almost protested again, but instead let him have a moment, he was thrilled just the same as the others were and whether he was willing to admit it or not, he showed me by the sparkle in his eyes. He twisted his head, silently asking me to follow and out of curiosity I did.

He lead me to the kitchen where I had been baking all morning, was thinking that he was going to make fun of something I made. I had been thinking of a comeback when we entered but instead I was completely taken aback. A large tree sat in the corner of the room, the high ceilings of the room greeted the tree as if it belonged all along.

Xavier sat the presents under the tree, turning back to me "so do you like it? Is it too much?" he scratched his neck, his cheeks growing red.

"Xavier you've done too much" I awed as I circled the tree, "it's beautiful" I finally breathed out.

Xavier gleamed, "really? I was worried you would think it was too much".

"Oh it is too much, but I love it." I turned towards him, surprising myself I wrapped my arms around him in an embrace. His arms stayed slack for a minute until I whispered to him, as if my voice woke him up, "Thank you so much Xavier."
