I come home and plop on the couch not caring where my mom is. She's always out or cleaning so it never bothered me.

"Honey?" Mom calls.

"Yeah?" I answer tired.

"How was school?" She asks.

"Fine." I grumble.

"What happened?" She asks.

"It was just a stupid guy, oh well." My phone buzzes.

Hey - No Caller ID

I click my phone off and stare back at my mom.

"Oh!" My mom squeaks, "The neighbor is nice."

"Yeah?" I ask.

She nods, "I told her about you wanting a job and she said you could babysit for her."

"Really?" I ask.

"Yeah, only once." She says.

"Cool." I say happily.

She nods while I begin to walk up the steps. I rub my eyes before laying in bed and closing them.

"Honey." Mom knocks on my door.

"Hmm?" I hum tiredly.

"You work today." She says.

I sit up and begin to get ready. Slipping on a black long sleeve shirt and a pair of shorts my phone buzzes again.

Stop ignoring me Sunshine - No Caller ID

Who is this? - Me

Never mind, it's got to be the ass from school - Me

I just had to get proof of me apologizing - Ass

Well, do it then - Me

I'm good sunshine - Ass

Stop calling me that - Me

It bothers you Sunshine? - Ass

I turn off my phone in annoyance and slip on my vans.

"Honey?"

"What?" I ask.

"Would you like to skip school and get to work early?" She asks.

"Is that even a question?" I ask happily, "Of course!"

"Okay, we'll go over there now that school has already started.

You're not at school Sunshine - Ass

Nope - Me

I click my phone off again and shove it into my pocket angrily. Me and my mom walk next door to the neighbor that I'll be working for. I knock on the door before a tall lady with a nice smile opens it.

"Hello!" She cheers, "You must be Mackenzie."

"Yep." I say happily.

"Well come in, my little girl is playing." She says.

I step through the doorway of the nice house. The walls are white and the stairs are clean, I follow the lady down the hall until stopping at a room.

"Hello." I say to the little girl.

"Hi, I'm Elizabeth." She says holding a teddy bear.

"I'm Mackenzie." I introduce myself.

"Can I call you Mac?" She asks adorably.

"Sure." I say smiling.

She hugs me suddenly making me laugh.

"She likes you already." My mom says.

I nod while standing back up.

"We'll be good." I say.

The two woman walk away leaving me with Ellie. She continues to play while I sit in the corner on my phone, checking on her every two minutes. She's really cute and small, her voice is adorable. Soon enough a door closes and I open the bedroom door to check it when my phone buzzes.

Sunshine, where are you? - Ass

One, stop calling me that and two none of your business - Me

I turn off my phone not caring if he's answer or not. Honestly I didn't even know why I hadn't blocked him yet. Sitting back down things become quiet until the door clicks open making me stand.

"Hey!" Ellie jumps in joy.

I tilt my head wondering who it is until he walks in with her in his arms.

"What the hell are you doing here?" I ask.

"What the hell are you doing here?" He asks back, "This is my house."

My eyes widen as I realise what the hell is going on.

"I'm babysitting Ellie." I say.

"Ellie?" He asks.

I nod and she giggles, "I love Mac bubba!"

He sets her down then crouches to whisper to her, She giggles and leaves. We both let out a sigh in awkward silence.

"So, Danny boy." I say sitting, "How come I like your whole family other than you?"

"Don't call me that Sunshine." He says glaring.

"And how come they're all really nice other than you Danny?" I continue.

He rolls his eyes, "I said stop."

"So did I." I say walking past him.

I find Ellie sitting on the couch with her teddy bears.

"Hey Ellie, do you want to watch a movie?" I ask.

"Yeah!" She smiles.

I go through Netflix until stopping on Mickey Mouse. She sits and watches it quietly leaving me satisfied.

"Why did you have to choose here?" Daniel walks out and sits by me.

"I didn't choose, I said yes and it was close to my house." I say.

"How?" He asks.

"I live right next door Danny." I say pointing.

He groans with his head falling back, "Of course."

I roll my eyes and watch as Ellie slowly falls asleep.

"How old is she?" I ask.

"Five." He says smiling at her.

Even though he's a complete ass, I can tell that he cares for his sister. Watching him smile at her makes me feel fuzzy.

WOW. NO. Not happening.
