"Mackenzie!" Daniel yells down stairs.

"What?" I call back.

"Get down here." He says.

I get up and make my way down the stairs when Daniel is standing with boxes in his hands.

"What're those?" I ask.

"You'r room stuff." He says.

"I don't have that much stuff." I say.

"It's here if you want it." He says.

"I don't." I sigh.

"Why?" He asks.

"I'm not talking to you." I say blankly.

"Please, just once." He pleads.

"It's stupid, I just move too much." I say

"I don't think it's stupid." He says.

"I do." I sigh before continuing back up the stairs.

Plopping onto my bed I lay back and stare up at the ceiling.

Daniel's POV

I wish she would've talked to me. I missed talking to her, having fun together. But for her own sake, I'll continue to stay away. If I was an ass she wouldn't fall for such a bad person, and I wouldn't for such a better person than me.  I begin to clean the kitchen up and wash dishes before remembering the boxes. Walking around the table I grab the boxes and place them by my bedroom door. She's probably asleep and I don't want to wake her. I tiptoe back downstairs and sit on the couch. Tossing my head back I close my eyes with a sigh. I've know her for a month now, how does she control me already?

I wake up to the sound of pans and plates in the kitchen.

"Mac?" I ask standing.

"Yeah?" She asks sweetly.

I walk into the kitchen where there are two plates of food sitting on the counter.

"What's this?" I ask.

"Steak." She says simply.

"But why?" I ask.

She shakes her head with a short laugh, "Dinner."

She hands me the plate while setting hers at the table. I begin to walk away with the plate in my hand until she calls me.

"What?" I ask.

"Sit." She says.

"We need to stay away from each other." I say.

"Just eat with me." She says shrugging, "What could go wrong?"

If only she knew.

"Okay." I say sitting down.

"Just... don't be an ass." She teases.

"Deal." I say. Only for now.

"How is it?" She asks as I take a bite.

"Good." I savor the flavor as I chew.

"Thanks!" She squeals happily.

I watch as she eats her food quietly, memorizing every feature. The way her hair falls onto her shoulders nicely, to the way she dresses. She's simply beautiful. She glances at me making me snap out of my trance.

"What?" She asks.

"Nothing." I shake my head and continue to eat.

"When's my mom coming back?" I ask.

"You got a little while." She says.

I nod and finish my last bite, waiting for her to finish I scroll on my phone. Ten more minutes pass and she finally is finished. I stand and pick up both of the plates making her look up at me.

"I got it." She says reaching for it.

"No, I do." I say walking.

"But-"

I trip breaking the plates, she runs to my side quickly.

"Daniel, you okay?" She asks.

"I'm fine." I groan getting up.

"You're bleeding." She points out.

Mackenzie's POV

He searches my face before running his hands over his cuts.

"I'll be fine." He says.

I shake my head, reaching for him, "No, we have to get you cleaned up."

" I have to get that cleaned up." He says pointing at the glass pieces.

"No, just let me." I say grabbing his arm.

There's a pass of silence before I gently pull him to the bathroom.

"Hold still." I say sitting on the counter.

"It might hurt." I say.

He nods before I place the alcohol onto his cuts making him wince. I lightly brush over his cheek making him grab my wrist.

"Sorry." I say quietly.

He lets go giving me availability to wipe at the blood.

"Hey." He winces.

"I'm sorry." I giggle, biting my lip.

"Stop that." He scolds.

Every time I bite my lips he says that. I continue to wipe with my lips in between my teeth. He stares intensely at me as I finish with is cuts.

"You have to be careful." I say.

"Obviously." He grumbles.

I lean a little closer trying to get the last little cut on his cheek. His his scent fills my senses, he looks at me with furrowed eyebrows.

"You're tempting." He says.

"Do you always give into your temptations?" I whisper.

He shakes his head, "No, but I can make an exception."

I pause at his words as he gets closer and closer until our lips brush. Wrapping my arms around his neck our lips connect quickly. Moving in sync he pulls me closer as he places his arms around my waist. My hands dig into his hair as he bites my lip lightly with a smirk. This is what I've been wanting, but can't have. In this moment I'll take what I can get, hopefully only for now. He pulls me off of the counter letting my legs wraps around his waist as he falls back against the wall. This bathroom isn't the biggest but it'll do.

"Daniel!?"

I pull away with wide eyes and look at the door. Daniel sets me down and walks out to a guy standing in the living room.

"What're you doing here?" Daniel asks looking at him.

"We're hanging out dude." He says moving his eyes to me.

"Mark!" Daniel yells noticing his gaze, "Fine."

"What were you two doing?" Mark asks with a smirk.

Daniel snaps his head to me for a second before looking back at Mark.

"Cleaning my cuts, I broke plates." He says.

I stand silently as Mark's eyes roam my body making me feel uncomfortable.

"You're a cute one." He says, I look over to Daniel who's clenching his jaw.

This did not go as planned or what was hoped for.
