My eyes flutter open and the first thing I feel is Daniels hot breath on my neck. He was still next to me with his arms tightly wrapped around my waist. Everyone was still asleep, so I decided to get out of bed and clean-up. However, that idea was interrupted by the koala bear clinging onto me. "Go back to bed, it's too early." He whispers in the sleepiest voice ever. I knew he wouldn't loosen his grip, so I just agreed and went back to sleep.
A few hours later
I felt the warmth next to me slowly leave so I turned to look at Daniel who was trying to sit up without waking me. Well to bad. "Oh I'm so sorry I tried to be quiet." He tries to apologize. "It's all good, wasn't really sleeping. Can I now get out of the bed or am I still not allowed?" I ask him sarcastically. He turns to me "Why wouldn't you be allowed?" he asked confused. "Because a few hours ago you didn't let me. You wouldn't even loosen your grip." I explain. His cheeks started to get redder and redder "Sorry for that, I didn't mean it. You can leave whenever you like." He says with a chuckle. So, I get up and go to the bathroom.
I look at myself in the mirror "So we are going to get our self together and stop this nonsense. You got this; he is just a boy. Please just have a good time, no relationships no nothing just friends. You got this; you do. Yeah maybe. Look you idiot if something happens, something happens, but if it does, we'll deal with it then. Now get ready and get on with your day. It's going to be amazing." I try to give myself a pep talk. After which I take a shower and try to get ready, but remember I left my clothes in the other room. So, I wrap a towel around myself and run to our little closet and grab whatever I see first and end up with this:
I added the accessories later before leaving the house. But before that Daniel got ready and I made the bed and cleaned up a bit. Since the lovebirds were still sleeping, we decided to go on a short walk.
While walking and trying to find a nice park bench to sit on we came across a coffee shop and decided it would be perfect to get a cup of coffee. Daniel got some sort of weird complex drink, while I just went for an iced latte. Not a long walk away we saw a quiet park with a fountain and decided that would be a perfect place to sit for a bit.
"Why did you pick Italy of all places to spend your first days of summer?" Daniel asked while sitting down. "I guess it always was in the back of my mind. When I was little, we didn't have a lot, but my dad would always tell me stories about his trips when he was a student and the ones that stuck with me were mostly from Italy. So maybe the world just really wanted me to be here or maybe this will be just a story I will tell my kids when I get older, but I sure know that I will never forget this trip. And you." I muttered that last part under my breath, but I guess it was loud enough for him to hear. "I won't forget you either." He says while looking straight into my eyes. I look away but feel his soft hand on my cheek as he lifts my gaze. He didn't take his eyes off of mine not even for a second, just kept getting closer and closer. Our noses almost touching, he loosens his other hand and slips the hot drink all over me.
I jump trying to shake of all the liquid since it felt like my whole skin was about to burn off. "Oh my god I'm so sorry we need to go home ASAP." He started to apologize and didn't stop until we entered the lobby of our hotel. When we finally got home, we found a quite literally shocking surprise.
