Chapter 19

"Hello sir, what can I help you?" the nurse smiles gladly.

"I come here to visit my relative, but I don't know where is her room" Jimin replies.

"Could you tell her name please?" the nurse asks.

"Dong Jieun" Jimin tells his relative's name to the nurse.

"Please wait a minute sir, I will check her room for you" said the nurse.

The nurse starts checking, Jimin is looking around.

"Sir, her room number is 1311 on the 12th floor, please go straight, then turn left you will see the elevator" the nurse shows Jimin the direction.

"Thank you" Jimin bows.

"You're welcome sir" the nurse responds, bow and smile. Jimin left the information centre, then he walks following the direction that the nurse has told him.

Chaeyoung arrives at the hospital, walk to the elevator. Luckily, the elevator has already come down, she steps in and presses the 12th floor then the elevator goes up.

"Sorry granny for making you wait so long" Chaeyoung said with a grin, open the door.

She lifts her face to see Jieun, but her smile is dropped because of someone who she didn't expect to see, he is already there, his back is facing her.

Lastly, what she thought, it happened already. She is confounded, drop her cotton bag on the floor. "Ji-Ji-Jimin" she calls his name out, eyes widen. Her voice caused him to turn back. She hasn't released the doorknob yet.

Jieun is sleeping when Jimin arrived. He didn't wake her up. He stands watching his granny sleeps soundly. He didn't know how to react when he saw her lying on the hospital bed with a nasal cannula.

His granny looks pale, dark circles under her eyes. Her feature is quite different now.

And Jimin's mind full of the question now.

"Jimin!" he heard Rosè's voice. He turned around, he saw she stuns and open her eyes widely. He looks at her blankly.

"Why-why are-are you-you here?" Rosè falters.

"I'm the one who should ask you what happened to granny, why she is in the hospital?" Jimin stares at Rosè.

She dashes to hug him. Rosè cries out, "I'm sorry, Jimin".

Jimin didn't hug Rosè back, he takes a deep breath, close his eyes try to calm himself down. He pulls her away, grips her upper arm firmly. He stares into her eyes. "Rosè, what happened to granny, why she is in the hospital?" he repeats the previous statement.

"Jimin!" she calls his name, presses her lips together, tears still stream down.

"ROSÉ, I SAID TELL ME NOW!" Jimin yells at Rosè, he lost his temper. Rosè is crying harder and harder now.

"Rosè, please tell me now" he begs her in a brittle voice, still grips her upper arm firmly.

"Granny, she has-has lung cancer last stage" Rosè tells the truth to Jimin, cry louder. "Doctor said that she has only one month left" she continues, more tear come.

Jimin loosens his grip on Rosè's upper arm. He starts chewing on his lip and his eyes well up with tears. A single drop of grief well up from the corner of his eye. He falls to his knee, burst into tears, clenching his fists tightly.

Rosè kneels to his level, cup his face with both of her hands, wipe his tear away, "Jimin".

"Why you hide it from me?" Jimin questions her weakly.

"Please forgive me" Rosè apologizes. "I just knew a few days ago after it happened" Rosè hold back her tear.

"Jimin, Rosè" Jieun's voice call them weakly.

They both stand up, sooth to the bed that Jieun is lying on. Jimin sits on the edge of the bed beside Jieun, grab her hand with both of his hand while Rosè just stands near Jimin.

"Jimin" Jieun lifts her hand slowly to touch Jimin's cheek.

"Granny" Jimin eyes are watery.

"Don't be such a crybaby, I'm okay" Jieun said and chuckle.

Rosè stand looking at the two of them in a sad-looking, she tries to wipe away her tears, but her tear continues to flow down on her cheeks. Jieun looks at Rosè who intertwines her fingers together, crying then Jieun signals Rosè to come near her.

"Rosè, why you come late today?" Jieun asks Rosè softly.

"Today, I went to the supermarket because I saw food in the fridge nearly out" Rosè reasons.

"I think when I come back home I will scold them because why they let food out and let my daughter go to the supermarket alone" Jieun jokes.

"Granny, don't blame them I just want to help them because I saw them so busy" Rosè pouts.

"I'm just kidding" Jieun laughs lightly, rub Rosè's hand gently.

Jimin who is silent for a while, look at Jieun and Rosè talking with each other happily. It made him feel thrilled. But, one thing that upset him is the fact that Rosè had lied to him and didn't tell him the truth. When he knew the truth, everything is too late, could he forgive her.
