Emma
We were finally back home, I was finally ready to meet my parents and poof! Everyone has suddenly decided it's a great time to just disappear!
Once we got out onto the road and in Regina's black Mercedes, a quiet conversation was made of where to look first. After much discussing and telling Henry to calm down and sit in his seat at least ten times, Regina and I decided to go scope out Mary Marg-my moms, apartment. I was so close to finding them. Hell, I already had. I just didn't know it at the time.
All of Storybrooke was dead quiet. Leaves blew across the road and sidewalks and ice coated cars and windows, but not a single soul was seen anywhere."Henry, be sure to keep a look out for anyone." I muttered again.
"I know, Mom. I am." I smiled slightly as I stared out the window and into the rear view mirror, watching the mansion fade away. A horrible feeling had formed in my gut.
Regina drove silently, eye's trained on the road for the next ten minutes and until we got to the apartment complex. She pulled up in an empty spot. Cars were next to us, but were vacant and didn't look like they had been driven in days. My breath puffed out in little steam clouds in front of me as I thought for a moment. I didn't want Regina to come with me right now, because honestly, I had no idea how my parents would react. Parents. I turned to face the brunette."Regina, I-I think you should stay here with Henry." I whispered to her, watching her eyes for any emotion. They flashed with confusion for only a second before she realized why. A brief nod signaled that she wasn't going to argue.
"Okay." She mumbled staring straight forward. I unbuckled and opened the door, placing my feet on the ground. Before I stood up I felt a soft hand on my shoulder. I recognized the touch immediately. "Emma." I turned my head over my shoulder to show her I was listening. "Be careful." Her voice cracked and I wanted to comfort her but I had no clue how. A nod was the best I could do.
I got out of the car and walked up to the doors, not turning back until I was inside and up the flight of stairs, standing in front of Mary Margaret, Snow White, and my mothers door. I swallowed and then knocked a couple times. A long pause. I tried the door knob and found it unlocked. Slowly, I turned it and creaked the door open."Mary Margaret?" I yelled softly as I peeked my head in and scanned the room. I stepped inside when I didn't see any movement and closed the door behind me. "Mary Margaret, you home?" I tried again. Once again I was answered with silence. I walked up to the bar and looked on the counter top. There was a picture of her and I, my arm draped around her small, petite shoulders. I was grinning like I had just won the lottery and she was slightly bent over, clearly laughing. I smiled and picked the picture up, examining it more closely.
That's when it happened, just like in those awful horror movies. The door locked a few feet behind me and I spun around to find someone standing there. Hooded with a strange cloak but clearly visible to be a woman. I stumbled back before I hit the marble counter."You must be Emma Swan." She said in a viciously calm voice.
"Who the hell are you? Where is everybody?" I asked, doing a horrible job of covering up the fear in my voice.
"Everyone's at the diner, setting up a rescue mission for you, dear! As for who I am, well, you don't really need to know that." She replied, oh so calmly and took a step towards me. I pressed my lower back more to the counter.
"What do you want?" I questioned as I slowly reached for my phone in my back pocket. Maybe I could somehow call Regina or send her a sign that a complete weirdo was cornering me. She continued to walk towards me.
"It's very simple Ms. Swan," she continued and I flinched. Ms. Swan, who did that sound like? "I want happiness for myself and for someone else I love. Someone whom I've come to find out that you love too." I swallowed and turned my head to the side, looking for a weapon of any kind. This person was a lunatic. "But as it turns out," she was now only a few feet in front of me. "You loving this person is not helping them, only blinding them of what is really important." I looked at the stranger again, wishing that I could see her face.
