Andromeda

I woke up holding on to the raven hair boy's back as he crawled into a dark van that smelled like kitty litter.
"Andromeda?" Grover asked.
"I'm good." I rubbed my eyes as I looked around the now illuminated room, courtesy of Percy's sword, to see a male white lion, a zebra, and an antelope.
I felt bad for them. The lion had turnips and both the zebra and antelope had hamburger meat ready for them to eat.
"This is kindness?" Grover ranted as I looked in my backpack for the jar of peanut butter that I stashed in there.
"Easy." I said as I stuck a finger into the jar and rubbed it into my fingers.
"What are you going to do with that?" Grover asked.
"I'm going to get the gum out of the Zebra's mane. I mean, ice works better, but we are fresh out of ice." I said as I walked into the cage and calmed the beautiful animal. "Easy, it's alright. I'm not going to hurt you... well, to be honest, it does hurt a little." I sighed as I threaded my fingers through it's mane getting all the gum out.
"How did you know that was going to work?" Annabeth asked.
"I watched this movie where this girl put gum behind her ear, and my nanny told me not to do that, but I did it anyway. Let's just say she wasn't too happy with me... but she used ice and peanut butter to get it out." I smiled lightly as I tried to wipe the pb off my hands as Percy gave the right food to the animals.
"You had a nanny?" Grover asked.
"Yeah, my parents were always really busy so they got me a nanny." I shrugged trying not to go deeper into that.
"What is your last name?" Annabeth asked me.
"I don't remember." I lied.
"Yeah right." She scoffed.
"I was in an... an accident when I was little. I don't remember much before then." I curled my knees up to my chest.
"Then how do you remember that?"
"It's always easier to remember the better days. I guess my mind took that accident as a saving grace. It erased all the bad parts... well most of them." I shrugged, playing with the rips in my jeans.
"Oh, I never knew that." Grover frowned.
"No one does. I've never told anyone. It's easier that way, and no one looks at you differently then they do with the kids who still have their parents." I hugged my knees tighter.
"You- your parents-?" Annabeth tried.
"Yes. They died when I was 6."
"You're an orphan?" Grover asked.
"Yep."
"Where are you living?" Percy asked looking deeply into my eyes.
"Anywhere and everywhere." I huffed out getting a little irritated with their questions.
"Not any more." He stated.
"Huh?"
"Once we get my mom back, you'll be staying with us." He said simply.
"Why?"
"Because that's what-" He paused a moment. "- friends do." He finished.
"Thank you." I smiled softly

Percy and Annabeth talked for a little bit as I started drifting off to sleep. My eyes were just about to close when I heard a sniffle. I shot up and look at everyone until my eyes found Grover.

I felt bad for him... I couldn't imagine having all that pressure on myself only to fail and have someone die because of it.
I tried to sooth him and thankfully, it worked. He fell asleep with his head in my lap and I fell asleep soon after, lulling myself to sleep by detangling his curly hair.

"Nanny, nanny! Come find me!" I shrieked happily as I ran down the halls of the mansion... just to run into my mother. She looked down at me in paint covered pants and shirt.
"Nanny!" She bellowed as the sweet lady came over.
"My lady." She bowed her head.
"Take her to the bath and get her dressed in something better then... uck, peasants clothes, and pack your bags. You're fired." She barked as nanny reached down for my hand and took me back into the bathroom where I started to cry.
"Hush, now darling. It'll be alright." She whispered as she handed me a wrapped gift.
"Happy early birthday, my dear." She hugged me as she sat me on the toilet so she could take my shoes and socks off and I tore into the gift to find a little gold necklace with the moon on it.
"Pretty." I smiled.
"Look, it opens." She said as she opened the locket to show a picture of us and an empty frame. "That one is for you to choose. Maybe some friends?" She suggested before she closed it up and put me into the bath.

I woke with tears tumbling down my cheeks as Percy put a hand over my mouth and pointed at the smugglers.
Please free me, my lady and my lord. The zebra said to me as my jaw dropped open as Percy slashed the locks on the cages and the animals ran free. We took this as our chance to get out unnoticed, but soon got lost at a dead end, facing the lotus casino. Lotus... that was in Greek mythology somewhere... I thought as this guy gave us these cards and brought us up to this room.
"Wow, this place is..." Annabeth started.
"Sweet." Grover finished. "Absolutely sweet."
Everyone went in to take a shower... and when the opportunity knocks, I will surely answer it. This shower was an opportunity to get clean, so I was definitely going to take it.... of course the only clothes they left me were exactly something I would never wear.

I walked out and looked at Annabeth who looked comfortable in her t shirt and jeans as she laughed at me

I walked out and looked at Annabeth who looked comfortable in her t shirt and jeans as she laughed at me.
"Trade?" I asked as I tried to fix the skirt.
"No. Do you have anything else?" She snickered.
"Unless you mean shorter shirts and smaller tops... no." I growled before she grabbed my arm and we went downstairs. She almost screamed when she saw this architecture game and bolted from my side. I smiled lightly but rolled my eyes walking over to a beautiful grand piano. I swiped my fingers across it, making the most beautiful sound in ever heard, and just started playing songs from a memory that I can barely access. Someone sat next to me and started playing as a guy took my hand and started dancing with me. I knew I should've pulled away, but I was just sucked into everything he was doing. It was odd, but I just couldn't focus.
That's when someone grabbed my arm and pulled me away from him and into this small and tight space where no one could see us.
"Hey, dude! What's your problem?" I asked as his lips crashed into mine. My mind finally cleared and I looked into the sea green eyes of Percy Jackson.
"You back?" He asked as I nodded slowly my face burning, chest pounding. "Lets go." He said.
"Lair of the Lotus eaters." I said as he pulled me along to meet up with Grover and Annabeth before running outside.
I found a newspaper.
"June 20th." I said as they all looked at me with horrified expressions.
"We were in there for 5 days?" Grover asked.
"It felt like hours." Percy looked up at me, his green eyes glowing in the last light of day.
