Andromeda
After Annabeth got us to the Santa Monica Pier in a taxi, and Percy took a dip in the ocean, we got cornered by rich assholes who tried to mug us, and a water bed salesman tried to stretch me to 6 feet. 4'6, it ain't happening. Thankfully, Percy chopped the salesman's head off and released us before we walked a block over to D.O.A records.
As soon as we walked in, grey walls and black furniture were what my eyes were drawn to. Ugh, really? Grey and black? So like 2004. I laughed at my thoughts.
"Mr. Charon." I said as he looked at me with bewilderment behind his eyes.
"Ah! Finally! Someone with manners!" He grinned. "How can I help you, young lady?" He asked before locking eyes with me and gasping. "My lady." He bowed to me as my face flushed.
"Huh?" Annabeth asked as I ignored her.
"An audience with Lord Hades, please." I stood up straighter dusting off my skirt.
"Of course my lady, right this way." He said as they all looked at me and I shrugged before we were brought into the elevator and he shooed the other ones out. If I didn't hate elevators before, I definitely do now.
"I suppose it's too late to turn back?" Grover asked as I placed my hand on his shoulder just as his shoes grew wings and started towards the dark chasm. I let out a scream as we picked up speed. I tried to crawl up his leg to take his shoes off. Grover had landed about 10 feet from the entrance, but I had landed closer and just about fell off the cliff. I was holding on to the ledge until Percy and Grover pulled me up. My body was shaking with intense fear.
"Are you ok?" Annabeth asked as I nodded softly before taking Grover's bloodied hands into my own. I started to hum as they healed.
"Better?" I asked him as he looked over his hands then up to me. "I'll explain later." I said as we got up and walked over to the gates of Hades Palace.
We walked through the garden of Persephone, Grover almost taking a pomegranate, before Percy and I stopped him. It's been really awkward between us since the... kiss. I shuddered as the unusual feelings came back to the surface.
"You are brave to come here, Son of Poseidon." Hades said with an oily voice. They spoke for a while but something was pulling at me to look in the backpack. I opened it to see the bolt and I gasped.
"Even the princess knew it before you did!" Hades barked.
"Did you-?" Annabeth growled at me.
"What? No! I-" I started.
"Of course she didn't! She was brought for a much different purpose. She wasn't born for war." Hades snapped at Annabeth.
"What?" I asked looking up at him.
"Dear girl, you were born and you live for a reason no one is aloud to tell you yet. You have known death much more the most humans, but your time will come, just not yet." He explained.
Percy gave us all pearls and we stomped on them. We were returned to the sea, and L.A was on fire.
Once we reached the sand, Percy started putting the blame on Athena.
"Hey." I said gaining their attention.
"Who gave you the backpack?" I asked.
"Ares?" Annabeth said.
"And what is Ares the god of?"
"War?" Percy added.
"If Hades doesn't want anymore dead people, who else would benefit from war?" I asked again as the light clicked in their heads. "Ahh." I said sarcastically.
