Laney POV
I woke up into a snowy Christmas Day. This is the day for love and giving. But for me Christmas is just another day. Well at least that's what my mom made me believe.
"Wake up mommy. It's time to open presents." I shook her and daddy early one Christmas morning.
"Get out of here! You have no presents!" She grouched.
"Go lay back down!" My dad snapped.
A tear threatened to fall but it didn't. At this point I'm used to it.
"Are we going to church today?" My voice shook from trying to hold my tears in.
"Go to church on your own time! Now leave us alone!" Dad snapped. I ran back to my room crying my eyes out.
I ignored that thought and got out of bed. I took a shower and put on a Brooklyn hoodie, skinny jeans, and boots. I put my hair in a bun and headed out.
People were all around singing Christmas carols and giving gifts to one another. I put my hood on and walked down the sidewalk.
"Mya." Someone called.
"What?" I said never looking back.
"Can you stop and talk to me?" The voice said. I stopped and turned to Christian.
"Do you follow me around everywhere I go?" I frowned.
"Maybe." He smirked.
"Don't!" I snapped.
"It's Christmas. Be happy." He laughed.
"Why you always following me Christian? What do you want?" I squinted my eyes. This nigga want something!
"I want you to come eat dinner with me and my family. Well, if that's okay with your family." He shrugged.
This gots to be some type of joke! Nobody likes Laney nor Mya! So why this square ass nigga being so fucking nice to me?!
"You wanna fuck?" I asked bluntly. That gots to be what it is.
"Excuse you?" He slightly frowned.
"Do.you.want.to.fuck?" I said slower for him. At this point I was inches away from his face.
"You know it. But shit I wanna get to know you." He licked his lips slowly. I smirked.
"Know me?! You don't wanna do that rich boy." I popped his collar. I turned to walk away and this nigga did the unthinkable. He pulled me back in to him close.
"Why not? You think a rich boy and a hood girl wouldn't get along? Or maybe you just scared of this." He grabbed his crotch and I could see his print!
"Let me go Christian." I pulled away but he pulled me back.
"Girl you don't want me too!" He smacked his lips.
"If you don't let me go I will-"
"You gone do what Mya?" He laughed. We stared at each other for a minute before he let me go.
"You don't know me...AT ALL. So please keep your hands to yourself!" I warned him.
"Whatever you say." He held his hands up and started walking away backwards. He blew a kiss at me before turning around.
Fuck him. Fuck this city. Fuck the police. Fuck being alone. And most of all, fuck my parents for making me this way.
Christian POV
I looked back once more and saw her walking away. She seems so angry, lonely, and sad all in one.
I call myself trying to be nice, but some people don't want you to be nice to them.
"Mya." I called before she turned the corner. She looked at me over her shoulder. Her hood thrown over her silky hair, causing her to look like a straight criminal. A cute one though.
"Please..." I simply said. She turned completely around. People were walking in between us but we both stood staring at each other.
"If I come with you, I want you and your sister to leave me alone! When I go to school I want to feel like you two aren't even on this earth." She said coldly. Little did she know that turned me on.
"Whatever you say." I smirked. She walked towards me and I looked down at her.
"If you think for once that I am playing with you I will-"
"Hush." I put one finger on her lips. She looked shocked as hell.
"You talking too much. Lets go." I simply said. She looked so surprised as if she's never been told to hush. I grabbed her hand and pulled her to my car. We got in and I drove home.
She sat quietly in the passenger's seat, staring out the window. I wanted to say something but I couldn't find the words.
"So you like any sports?" I asked. She didn't move. She simply stared out the window. I did notice a small scar on her hand though.
"How'd you get that scar on your right hand?" I asked. She still stared out the window but slid her hands into her sleeves.
"I don't want to talk about that." She looked down then up at me.
"Well I won't make you." I shook my head at this crazy girl.

*I pulled up to my three story mansion. I could tell by the look on her face that she didn't know my family was living large.
"Take me home." She said.
"Nope. You gone get out and we gone enjoy this snowy ass Christmas." I told her. She looked at me surprised.
I got out and walked towards the door with her following behind me quietly. I stuck the key in and pushed the door open.
"And this is my home." I moved out the way so she could walk in. She didn't look phased. She simply wore a blank expression. It almost reminds me of a sociopath.
"Ma! Da! Lori!" I called out to them. I could hear laughter coming from the family room. I grabbed Mya's hand and lead her to the room.
"Everybody this is Mya." I told them. Ma and Lori's nose was twisted. Da simply smiled.
"Hey." Da said. Mya was too busy staring a hole through Lori's head.
"I want to go home." She said once more.
"Christian, where did you get this...this junkie." Ma said in pure disgust. I looked to Mya to see if she was phased by my mom's comment, but she wasn't.
"Ma she just want to spend Christmas with us." I said.
"Really Chris?" Lori said.
Laney POV
They started discussing me like I wasn't standing right here. Like I was an object or something.
"Lock her up." The judge said.
"Your honor, my client was under the influence of the deceased Jamal." My lawyer said.
"This case is over Lawyer Campbell." The judge banged her gavel. And there I was being escorted to cell block 8.
"Mya." Christian said breaking my thoughts. I noticed everyone was staring at me.
"I don't want to be here. Take me home." I mumbled to Christian.
"Okay." He whispered. He turned back to his family and sighed.
"Thanks for ruining my Christmas, family." He told them.
