Laney POV
I stared at myself in the mirror. I chopped my hair off to about shoulder length and dyed it honey blonde. I moved all the way to Atlanta. It's much smaller than New York but it'll do.
That day I left the police station is the day I became America's Most Wanted. I had to change my look, location, and name. Mya Johnson is what I go by now.
Plain ole Mya. The quiet girl of McCoy High. The weirdo no one likes. But that is fine with me! I'm not here to make friends with any of these lames! I simply play the weird bitch so no one would part their lips to me!
"Could you please put the mirror up Mya?" My teacher asked. I stared at her and eased the mirror back in my bag. If this was a year ago I would've broke this mirror and shanked her with the glass. But I'm not trying to get life in prison.
"Freak." Lori Leighton said next to me. I'd like to call her the slut that everybody wants. She reminds me of a knock off Christina Milian. I didn't dare look her way. One day these bitches gone feel my wrath.
The bell rang and I stood up out my desk. I proceeded to the cafeteria where everyone was headed. I got my lunch and sat alone.
I looked down at the prison food and it reminded me of the food we had back in Juve .
"You gone eat that?" This big girl stood over me.
"Is my fork in it and half eaten?" I frowned. Nobody puts fear in me. I don't care how big you are.
And I was only 14. Now that I'm 18 I feel ten times more violent and rebellious.
"You gone eat that?" This tall boy stood over me with his friends. I saw Lori laughing with her friends from another table.
I got to play it cool and not snap. If I don't I might just kill someone and everyone would know I'm Laney Cole.
"Do you want some Christian?" I said so politely.
"Hell yea I want some." He licked his lips and laughed with his friends.
I simply got my trey and stood up. I dumped it in the trash and exited the cafeteria before I caught a murder charge.
"You ain't never gone be shit in life but a problem child." My mom told me at the age of 13.
"I told you to let her get out in them streets and see how you work them." My dad would tell my mom.
"I can't have this lil bitch taking all the money from me." My mom rolled her eyes at me.
I would sit on the floor and let all of it sink in.
I would never be anything in life but a problem child.
"Problem child huh? I got your problem child." I mumbled to myself as I walked straight out of the school. I started walking down the sidewalk towards the small apartment I had.
Don't ask how I got the money because you might not want to know.
Christian POV
"C'mon Lori!" I yelled from my Bentley Coupe after school.
"Your brother is rude Lori." I heard one of her friends say.
"Bye girl." Lori told the girl and came to my car and got in.
"Took you long enough!" I snapped.
"Stop fussing Christian." She begged.
"So about that scene in the cafeteria. I really don't like that Mya girl. She makes my damn skin itch. I was hoping you would smack that bitch." Lori grouched. I simply laughed.
The only way a girl could make my sister feel like that is if she sees competition in them. Apparently creepy Mya has a going on.
"I mean she's weird Lori. No one likes her and she has no parents. Why are you jealous?" I asked. A relieved smile formed upon her lips.
"You're right. I have nothing to worry about." She laughed a devious laugh. But I feel like I've seen her before. On tv maybe?
