He lets out a bittersweet laugh. What is it doing hidden all the way up there?

Inside it are lists after lists of what they said they would do in the future. 'to watch together' 'places to eat' 'to do when bored' 'cute date ideas'

Some of them are crossed out, some left. In it there's a list that none of its points are crossed out, 'places to see'.

He lets out a sigh, letting a few tears roll down his eyes, tracing her handwriting on the page. 'The Grand Canyon' 'The Great Wall of China' 'Alishan, Taiwan' 'Koh Hong Island'

He remembers them both sitting just here, on the floor near the bed, scribbling down in this book.

"They're all ridiculous, we'd never be able to see them."

"Why not? People travel there all the time."

"Not us!"

"Why not?"

He bites his lower lip, flipping the pages of the book, until at some point the pages turns blank, there's nothing more to see.

He slowly closes the book sighing.

He should've just gone, right there and then. He should've just accepted the challenge and went around the world with her, see every beautiful thing together.

But he was too ambitious and invested in his dream, he didn't realise that she was no longer standing next to him a long time ago.

He turns to his half-packed, messy bag, then at the book in his hand. He's already packed, what's stopping him to go now? He can't finish the list with her, why can't he finish it alone?

He lifts himself up from the bed. He looks at his schedule for the next month, seeing if he has any upcoming events. There are some things on his schedule, but there's no more time to wait.

'Cancel everything I have for the next month.' He texts his assistant.

'Excuse me??????' He receives a reply immediately.

'Niall'

'Niall'

'NIALL'

He swipes and mutes the text, before exiting the message and starts to look for the soonest flights.
