"That is so good!" Niall exclaims as she tells him about being offered to work on a short project with her professor. "Congrats. See, I always said that your head is too big because your brain is big-"

"Nah! You were just being mean."

"How is that being mean? I'm praising you."

"Shut up." She rolls her eyes laughing, taking another piece of her cake. "What about you? How have your life been?" She asks.

He nods humming. "Same old, bigger crowd." He says.

"That's good. More people need to pay attention to your music. They are out of this world."

He smiles, thinking how she still listens to his music even though they haven't talk in two years.

"I need to get more cake." She says standing up to go to the fridge.

"Top right."

"Mkay,"

She grabs the handle and notices the polaroid on his fridge, stuck on with a magnet that she got him from a small shop across the town.

She traces their faces with her finger, thinking back.

He turns to her when he realizes she's taking quite some time. He sees her looking at the picture, her hands against it softly.

He stands up, walking towards her quietly. He leans in the counter next to her, her eyes stays on the picture.

"I have one too." She says. "Slightly different, but it's the same day." She smiles. "I remember that day." She chuckles.

He smiles, crossing his arms.

She turns to him and he turns back to her, so many unspoken words between them but none of them are important anymore.

He's here, she's here; they are both home together, like they were before, and it feels nice.

She turns away from the fridge and stands next to him, leaning her head on his shoulder. They both know deep down even without words, they have their best friend back.
